Toyota does need to step it up big time though. Nissan's Frontier is due for an update as well. That Hyndai Ridgeline-fighter has been green lit too.

I'm one of the "on the fence" people. The 3.5L engine is the main issue for me, not enough torque below 3000rpm. A modern diesel is of no interest to me, Fifteen years ago sure. Back then they didn't have thousands of dollars in power and fuel robbing emmisions components that are illegal to remove.

Knowing Toyota the 3.5L is here to stay as is, at most we will see a gearing change. I doubt they will even do a weight reduction until the next generation.

That I am. Yeah it'll be a soccer mom truck no doubt but it will be in some ways a Tacoma competitor.

Yeah that's why you use the tow button.

My friend towed a 2500 truck on a trailer with his tacoma and said he loves how it tows

The ECT button makes all the difference.

And don't go off other peoples opinions, definitely test drive yourself. Everything out there is liked by some and hated by some.

No way a Tacoma competitor. The "bed" is useless, ground clearance is lacking, and its hideous.

Calm down son. Not all of us believe what we read on the ole inner web. Just throw it out there with the rest of the chum and let the sharks nibble on it. Have a good evening.

Still a hyundai. Who the hell would buy that? If a Tacoma owner went to a hyundai then I would hope he drove it over a cliff with himself/herself inside.....Jesus a Hyundai..:jerkoff:

They had a 15 year run that ended sometime in the mid 2000s. (2006 or 7 I think)

And they outsold them by a LOT. Like 200k more trucks a year.

I know I saw in 1999 ford sold 350k. Tacoma was in the 75k range if I remember right.

I am excited to see the new ranger. My fear is that they will have tiny engines with a bazillion turbo chargers on them. Not that I mind small engines, but I have longevity concerns because of the turbos.
