And the fattier the fish the higher the concentration of toxins. NY and Pa. have put those guidelines out for years, and have noticed a lot of other States do too. Of course Salmonids- trout, salmon and steelhead are my favorite and fattiest with highest levels. And best for smoking. But no warnings here yet.

Like Rob not into fishing through a hole in the ice. April. Is it April yet?!

A bass that likes calm bays and jetties with sandy bottoms with little white rubber lures on a drop shot set up swimming by. Fun on light lines and small reels and soft tipped rods.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Jobs... What a pain in the ass.

I run a small network infrastructure team. 4 of us. We do the work of about 6 people. I have a great team. Everyone has their primary responsibilities, and a person to provide backup coverage if they are out.

    I have:
One router/switch person, that I cover.
One storage/virtualization/patch management person that backs up and is covered by
One generalist IT type who primarily does account management and Help Desk escalations, as well as tape backups (I cover the account management stuff)

So my generalist is pregnant, and will be going on 12 weeks maternity leave soon

And my storage/virtualization/patch manager guy told me yesterday that he will be taking another position in 2 weeks.

I have no freaking idea how I am going to be able to hire/train a person that can not only take on his primary job, but also take on the coverage functions.

I may just resign/retire. I'm too old for this shit.

I think I just came across another reason to stay here despite the long cold Winters. Long as I can escape to AZ and visit kids for a break. ;)

 I'm out for another nap. Have a good rest of the morning everybody.

We have striped bass here also. With the rain we have been getting the reservoirs might be full enough to fish this year. Most lakes closed down due to low levels, most boat ramps didn't even make down to the water.

Chris it is not all that hard, I am sure with all your body work experience it will be a piece of cake for you. I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel, measured twice and cut once. Why don't you make your own skids, I saw that pic of the fender you made-awesome. I can't imagine anyone could do it better than that. I made my own and I have little to no metal experience. I used the "whiskey bend" method to get the angles. Need to finish the t-case skid and I will be covered.

I've been fishing for them since I was a kid. My Holy Grail is a 50#+ fish landed. Had one 2 years ago almost at the net, made a last second dive and popped the line on a rock. Several in the high 40's, but never broke 50.
My buddy got this one back in June that was 55#. I should have taken that Friday off, lol.

OK I did not need to see that! We are lucky to see 10-15 pounders. Although I don't chase them as hard as some do. Been thinking hard about a 14' Boston whaler, so that would help with the pursuit. Nice fish!

My BIL retired last year and got himself a new Whaler. 15'Super Sport with a Merc 60 horse 4 stroke. Nice boat he can handle himself and his Taco easily pulls.
He just picks his days when he can go on the Sound. When the water is too sporty, you don't go.

New Mn. record musky was caught this year. The slot limits are working on the lakes. Would love to catch this guy on a fly rod. Or a large stripper on a fly for that matter.

WOW! We do not have fish like that down here in So Cal. We get some big yellowtails if the warm ocean currents make their way up from Mexico, but nothing like that in our lakes-I would be afraid to swim in that water.

There is something to be said for working for a large organization. And being a technical specialist instead of a lead, I figured that out a long time ago. I used to be in the field and wearing so many hats can wear a person out. When I first started 15 years ago where I am now I was a technical specialist for 5 people. 4 of us on call and we had a couple thousand servers, I had just implemented VMWare but most were physical boxes, and 60k screaming users (but no network duties) and handled backups and storage also. Same thing one lady got pregnant so FLMA and another left. I was asked by another team to come to their group. It was a no brainer and best move I ever made.

If you can get in the right group someplace else life can be so much better. IME that comes with enough staff. The group I was in 15 years ago now only handles servers, 93% VM and Citrix, and there are more than 30 people. Management finally learned and I was told that I was the straw that broke the camels back. But not sure exactly how many servers they have now, but it is a lot. If you can get in the right vertical market with a large group I would vote jump. State or County gigs can usually be pretty decent too from what I saw in the field.

Not easy to "jump" at 59 years old. And after 28 years with the same company.
