Yeah the link to the article that started this entire thread says in it: "will feature unique front-end styling, engines, and features as compared to the Euro-market truck."

That's a more verbose way of saying that the truck will be different from the Euro version.

Yeah, but if the Ranger looks like that it won't sell here. Too Ridgeliney. /s

With how many times that has been said in this thread, I would think the Ranger might look different.

I don't know how else to highlight it for folks. THE RANGER IN THE FUCKING PICTURE IS NOT WHAT THE NORTH AMERICAN VERSION WILL LOOK LIKE

But I think the last discussion about looks was the Mazda, which was not mentioned in the article about the Ranger.

Yeah the new ranger will have UNIQUE STYLING which will be different from anything we've seen yet, the pictures are classified TS/SCI Double Dark UPPER Top Secret Code Word Yankee. So they will not be released for public viewing maybe for a year or more.

May as well give up on that smitty, that's what half this thread is and they still don't get it. I got tired of typing of the same thing over and over, so I will just wait and post pics of my new Ranger when I get it.

Oh hai guyz. Did you hear the Tacoma is getting a diesel next week? And I can't believe Ford would style the upcoming Ranger so hideously! People are going to hate it. It looks too much like the Ridgeline, Frontier, Dakota, and Chevy Luv.

    I've moved past wanting a diesel. It's 2017, I want a hybrid Tacoma already.

Good MPG and More HP/TQ then you would ever need? Yeah who needs a diesel, that would be dumb to be more efficient.

Yeah the 'ol diesel vs gas argument. Diesel is a rich man's engine now. They will pay $8,000 for the diesel to brag about their 5 mpg increase. Then pay an extra $5,000 when to fix all the emissions equipment when something goes wrong down the line.

That being said, my Dad's Duramax is legit. Just too much truck/cost for me.

I know. It is nerdy, but a hybrid Taco would likely rocket sales to where they've never been. And I feel we're at a point now where it's time for trucks to look past diesel for a high MPG option. And it's not like Toyota doesn't have the hybrid engines available.

Plus around here, diesel costs considerably more than regular, and I'd have to find a gas station that actually still sells it.

When gas goes back up I wouldn't be surprised to see it surpass diesel again. It was only 3 or 4 years ago that Diesel was actually cheaper than gas for a while.

:crapstorm:Here's some more fuel for the conversational fire.

Get rid of the ethanol mandate and we can all get more power and Mpg's in the trucks that we own now. Corn growing for fuel is wasteful of our most precious resource, WATER!

thats only in a few areas. For many many years gas has been cheaper than diesel.

I run premium in all my vehicles...diesel here is only a little more. Don't think you're going to save much money if any...that torque would be awfully nice though. Find the new 3.5 V6 a little soft on the bottom, if anything Toyota needs to turbo it...won't do anything for fuel economy though. Hybrid might solve the torque and fuel consumption issue with the Tacoma.

The new diesels are getting roughly 10 mpg more than gas...that 10 mpg gain isn't a whole lot in yearly fuel prices if you think about it. Though I do see the diesel Colorado prices coming down, they have them at around $32K here at the local dealer. I drive about 24,000 miles a year. Could see "some" fuel savings almost immediately. It has been a while since I ran the numbers...but it is a couple hundred bucks a year in fuel cost savings. It only works if the cost of the trucks are the same.

Problem I have with the current Tacoma is, want decent fuel economy for the weekly commute...and enough power for yanking the toys around on the weekends and taking trips. Be awfully nice having decent fuel economy on long trips. There are reports of a loaded down Colorado with a Four Wheel Camper getting 25 mpg. Where the same on a Tacoma...you'll be lucky to get 15.
