Yes! When you order the Corbeau brackets for your truck they are made to mount to the factory location.

The little bit of ice we have left about got me this morning. Hit a patch going about 30 and it shot me to the ditch missing the trunk of a cedar by about 5ft

I called Rocky road first. They couldn't take the info I gave about my truck and correlate that to a part number I needed for the locker. I went elsewhere.

Theres really only 1 obvious choice when ordering. They dont make a no slip for the smaller diffs so the 8.4" is literally the only option for 1st gens

Which is why I went elsewhere. Ha ha.

I said I want to order a powertrax no slip for an 01 Tacoma 4x4 2.7L non TRD with an open rear diff.

They told me to call my dealer, give them my VIN, blah blah blah.

    No thanks.

They weren't cheap, but not bad for all the seats I looked at. Definitely got the lumbar option but no seat heat

So another question and you're all probably gonna tell me what I know. What I know is I need to cycle my leaf pack to find the right shock length. But I don't have that much time before the next time I have time to get them in. All I'm gonna do is ask Deaver to make me a J59 pack but to fit my 96. I've decided I'm gonna keep stock location with the shocks. What I'd like to know is what the biggest shock length I can run is with the Deaver springs and stock location on shocks. Thank you

Your only gonna be able to run a stock length shock then....doesn't matter that you are going to get a better leaf pack with more travel, because your keeping the stock location you would bottom out or be at bump on a shock any longer than stock in the stock location. Hope that clears it up

You could try looking for a short body shock that "might" have a bit more travel, but it would also have to fit the stock location mounting

I agree with you. This is what I have always done with my rigs:
    - Install the appropriate lift that I need.
    - Cycle the suspension (full compress to full droop) and measure the eye-to-eye distances.
    - order shocks that allow for those dimensions.

I've always used the stock shock locations and have done some pretty serious rock-crawling.
    Never had an issue.

I think the most important thing is to have shock that does not limit the down-travel. You are more likely to do this, than bottom out during up-travel (unless you're a desert racer, and spend most of time in the air).

depends on the shock. some have varying collapsed lengths by up to a couple inches. Id say a 10" 7100 short body could work. may still have to relocate the bumps.

BUT. why would you not just relocate the shock mounts?

Well As a high school student living in my parents house my mom thinks that the only way to slow this project down (which she's against) is to take away options, one of those being welding a relocation. Which in my opinion would take how long, like an hour to do right? I don't know, this has me thinking again. She doesn't know really what happens to my money or my truck and I doubt she'd notice. She's more worried about my money for college which with two jobs is not really worrying me right now.

The stock shock location will do just that....limit your down travel and without a short body shock a longer travel shock will be close to bump or bottoming out just sitting at ride height.....the best thing he can do if your going to drop the coin for a nice leaf pack that allows more travel you SHOULD relocate the shock to maximize travel and dampening....but I am not a suspension engineer just my .02

And you are 100% correct he needs to measure full droop and bump or he may just be ordering the wrong thing

I was looking at the total chaos relocation for the longest time that relocates it outside the frame. It keeps it stable and really good off-road. And then I looked at a faster well known option. The bamf relocation, how hard is it to relocate really?
