$200 spacers or $5k on a LT kit... For not offroading I'd just get spacers. There are plenty of members who use spacers and drive very hard offroad with zero issues

Btw to get any benefit from the LT kit you'll definitely need new shocks that are matched to the longer travel you'll get from the control arms. Probably totally custom since adding the longer spindle changes your geometry

What are you going to do to widen the rear track? Custom axle housing and longer shafts? Not sure I understand what your issue is with wheel spacers, but sure SAS it.

This is a super good question! I was wondering the same (I didn't know if the kit was for front and back). I don't want a super wide front end and a skinny ass end!

Only read the first few posts....

Your are wasting money, if you do this it's stupid, your current shocks won't work,

You are better off getting rid of the drop bracket and goin long travel afterwards. Any other way is stupid and a waste

Yes it can be done. Should you? Hell no. There is a first gen 6" DB lift with TC LT running around by me but no way in hell would I ever do it. But yes you need new coil overs.
    A) center of gravity will be way to high to do any wheeling that you need LT for, and B) its just stupid to mix those two lifts. You'll need a custom spacer on top of the LT coil over to make it work, which is sketchy cause it'll be 6" spacer.. LT should never mix with DB. If you just want the wider stance then use spacers. As long as you torque them properly and check them every once in a while you'll be fine.

SAS to do properly can range from about $8k to no upper limit

So you are saying SAS it!!! LOL Ok I am leaning more towards the spacers after all my internet research.

If you are going for height, yes SAS it or leave it. Or get the bullet proof suspension 12" lift kit

I might SAS in a couple years if I don't spend all my money this week. I think I'd rather wait until more options are out there for the 3rd gens. Spacers for now.

For the money, I would just get a popup camper. Park in the wilderness, near Lake Michigan, stare out upon the choppy waters and ask yourself, "What would Favre do?"

Pretty sure you'll get the answer you're looking for...

But seriously, spacers would probably be fine. SAS it when the wheels fall off.

First of all, I'm not looking to waste money on my truck. I work very hard to modify this truck. It is my first new vehicle and I want to do modifications the best/most correct way that I can. I live in WI, we don't have many off-road trails and the ones we have are pretty tame. We also have very few modified trucks to look at and ask questions about (or even shops that do modifications). I understand that many people on here are not big fans (see OP) of what I want to do with MY truck, but I posted here to ask sincerely for suggestions and advice. I take everything I learn here into consideration EXCEPT useless, mean-spirited comments like yours. Maybe I shouldn't listen to all the posts saying that spacers are unsafe, garbage...then I wouldn't have been looking for something better. And to attack a fellow member of this forum asking "how many drugs are you on", you should look feel pretty bad about yourself and probably be removed.

@Silver02Taco is right. We would recommend that you go long travel. Give us a call and we can help you get your suspension set up right.

Installing the any of the LT kit's with your drop bracket will bolt up but the suspension geometry might be off! We have not tried to install any of our Prerunner Kits with a drop bracket.

Our +2 kit has a custom spec King 2.5 made specifically for our kit. If your current coilovers have the same specs ( Length, valving etc...) it'll work. If it does not have the same specs, you will need to get new Coilovers or have Fox make you shocks to our specs.

    Do you have a budget?

It seems like you really need to sit down and think what your best option is.

Are spacers possibly all you need? Are you looking to go the LT or SAS route?

    JT

I have actually considered them all before. It's not like I am jumping around, they are just ideas presented to me. But yes, I do need to sit and think about this build. I only considered the LT (actually had never looked into it) because I wanted a wider stance and had always heard that spacers were really bad. So then LT was suggested by the shop and I wanted to research if that was actually a good idea. I'm glad I did, cause it sounds like it's not the best option. I know I can try a wider wheel, but I probably will rub. SAS is something that intrigues me, but I don't think I'm ready to chop up my new truck. I might consider it later down the road because I would like a little more height. But really, I think LT is out (I want height, and don't wanna waste my BDS lift). And a lot of guys are saying that spacers are not too bad.
