Alex Ovechkin tied Maurice “Rocket” Richard on the NHL’s all-time goals list on Monday night. Ovechkin tallied his 544th career goal late in the Caps’ 4-1 win against the Canadiens, putting him alongside the Habs great in Montreal. What a game last night looks like my Caps are turning up the heat for the first time this season.

Nah we are done collecting backup goalies for now lol.

I watched him a lot when he was with the Flames. I think his nickname was noodles for some reason lol. Anyways the guys on the team loved him even though he suffered the old backups curse that haunted the Flames when Kipper was here and he couldn't seem to win even when he had a great game. I'm sure he was waived because there is someone younger and better ready to replace him but I wouldn't be shocked if he showed up in the AHL somewhere to help stabilize a team. He's known for his room presence more than his skill set.

LOLZ. I didn't catch that. I only saw he was on waivers yesterday.

Well I mean he has a kickass SV% for a backup but he was also playing on the streaking Jackets for most of it. I'm not opposed to the guy, as you can tell, and the other guys TO have picked up have been a bust so, yeah, I guess we will see what happens.

 

Heard on TSN radio this morning he was closing in on 1,000 career points. Then they mentioned Gretzky hit 1,000 points when he was 23 years old

Calm down. Take a breath. Read any currently accepted medical concussion protocol. Long and short, 48-72 hours of bed rest with minimal movement and brain activity, ie you shouldn't even watch TV let alone stand in a bright white arena, are the first steps in treatment.

Man they grow them dumb in the Winterpeg area lol. Turn on your radio and read every once in a while. It'll do you some good.

Honestly, it isn't a bad move, IMO. If anything, I think CBJ made a mistake. CM is solid. Best part is, CBJ waived him then BOB got hurt, so supposedly that Forsberg dude has to start lol.

Exactly. The minimal brain activity means basically, do nothing. I'm not a doctor or claiming to be, but I think they should take precaution with their future star (but really any player that got blasted like that).

BTW, props to Hellebuyck on the SO. I feel like he doesn't get enough credit. Not the toughest outing, but still good to see him get the shutty. Good, young goalie. Also, why the Jets don't go to those unis, is beyond me. They look amazing. @Blue Hooligan

 

It's funny how often that happens. Think back to Ottawa when they were running three legit goalies. One guy got hurt and then the backup turned up to be a steaming pile of shit. Of course they only learned that after trading away Bishop.

TO had no true NHL backup, just a collection of decent AHL goalies who could rotate into backup duty and do okay. If this guy can bring it then I'm all for him. I guess I'll have to figure out if his nickname in the room is still Noodles lol.
