You're not realizing the bigger picture.

The success of Alabama's football team alone, has more than quadrupled the international enrollment numbers.

You see, this way, the people who are going to ACTUALLY get a job in something specific, and be effective are getting that exact education.

The other guys, well, they'll be like me. They'll end up with some sales job, or something damn near entry level and have some amazing memories and experiences.

My sister had great coverage with a company through her work, then that company pulled out of her state when the ACA passed. THAT is the real crime!

company basic insurance is $404/mo, and has similar coverage as my current insurance. also Humana. i've been told to look into HSAs, but no one can explain it to me effectively.

It's helped those that truly needed it. It's also hurt those who didn't.

It's raised our premiums here at work as well.

HSA is basically a high deductible savings account.

You pay for cheaper premiums, as you are taking on more risk.

You deposit money in an HSA (Health Savings Account) that accrues interest, and it is YOUR MONEY. When you have a medical issue, you use this money to pay for 100% of the cost until you meet your deductible. After the deductible is met, you pay nothing.

SO, the most I will spend is like, $4k a year plus premium costs ($36 a week)

Can't help too much with that - my primary is still Tricare Retired. I think it's that special pre-tax savings account where some of your non-taxed pay is funneled to only be used for health expenses. Benefits are reducing reported taxable income and lowering overall amount of federal taxes paid. Not sure all the ins and outs, though.

so is it in addition to your insurance premium, or no? Company HSA is $220/mo.

the kicker to all this is company is supposedly covering half of the premiums. so basic insurance is actually over $800 a month. supposedly.

now, in the past 10yrs, all i've used insurance for is sinus infections, and 2 kidney stones. so i think the HSA will work, unless it's in addition to insurance premium.

Speaking of insurance I'm going to be paying $325 for two full coverage cars for my insurance now. Is this normal? I feel like we're paying more now than when I did with a dui on my record.
