    Hello all!

I'm in the process of purchasing my first non-domestic vehicle. I've always owned an American V8 product. I've really liked the look of the 2nd Gen Tacomas. Right now, I'm looking at a couple of 08 SSM TRD sports, both of which have around 90,000 miles. One has had the frame recall already completed. what other issues should I look for before purchasing? common problems?

    Thanks!

some of this, a little of that
    rust, rust and more rust...

I think the 12's have a problem with an air injector, the '05's and early '06 have potential motor mount problems. I had an '08 and I loved it, no electronic nannies and a mechanical LSD. However if I were looking for a 2nd gen I would try to find a '14 or '15, newest you can get and most all of the demons have been exorcised already. Welcome to the site

Too poor to list anything interesting.
A low limit credit card that can't accommodate the mods you're going to end up doing.

Yeah, I plan on getting underneath it with a fine toothed comb and check it all out. 14 &15 a little out of the price range for the moment.

LOL. Thanks! I've been reading through a bunch of threads lately. Getting some good ideas. 5100s and AAL sounds like a good plan.

soo........ the individual dealer that i was trying to buy the Tacoma from ended up falling through. plus the year of Tacoma was out of most ranges for loans. I did some more looking around and found a local dealer to have one. i went down to look at it. the truck turned out to not really be what i was wanting in a vehicle. On the same lot, they had a 2010 4Runner SR5. I crunched the numbers with my lender and ended up going home with a vehicle in a couple hours. Since then its been an adventure. I've been fortunate in my work lately to be able to afford some accessories. i still love the looks of the Tacoma but have feel in love with my current setup. It's nice to be passionate about something again.
