Hey i've been searching and didn't come up with much on the topic of rigging the old tundra third brake lights w/cargo light on the tacomas. I assume theres a good reason this isn't done more often that i should know about??? If its just a matter of a little cutting, self tapping, resealing, and wiring, then i'll pick one up and get on it asap (and be sure to take pictures) Is this possible?? I guess the only reason it wouldn't work is if the tundra light has a smaller profile that wouldn't fit the current hole. A little expert input would be great! thanks

funny story, my friend knows a guy back home that got pulled over for having his cargo lights on while driving his tundra. He and the cop spent around 10 minutes trying to figure out how to turn it off

well sounds as though i might just get ahold of a used one and see what I can do with it and keep ya'll posted. if i can't get this, i'll just do some of the current ideas for bed lights with aftermarket setups in the bed somewhere, but i sure would like to come up with something nice and integrated like the tundras have.

:duel:touche'. well played sir, you win. I do have one of these and love it. actually just used it for nighttime snowblowing.. worked great. even though i got made fun of by the girlfriend. it's great for nighttime tacoma modding when youre tinkering in a low light area, too!

Hey for those of you that showed interest. Wasn't a huge fan of the tundra ones so I just went online and looked at all the trucks with third brake/cargo lights and decided on the one from the colorado/canyon. I think it looks the best and others look like they may be a bit big for the tacomas. also ordered a factory fog switch too. as soon as they come in i'll try and make it work and take some pics.
