has anyone did lowered their truck?

    any different from previous Gen?

not a good idea, because no one is doing it?

what do you have to lose when you lower the truck?

    Your pride :D

just kidding, to each their own. I'm sure someone on here has lowered one, might have to wait awhile to find someone that has though as most people on this particular forum go the opposite direction and lift. Might want to try customtacos.com

thanks good idea going to another forum...

to be honest guys....i'm loading motorcycle, lowering would help my confidence when i walk the motorcycle to the truck bed.

however, really don't want to lose the payload....i don't mind lose my manhood...lol....

actually dont think youd lose payload unless you do it wrong. id imagine lowering springs for trucks are similar to cars and are at a higher spring rate which shouldnt hurt payload but will effect ride quality

Why would a guy asking about lowering information have a use for offroad capability, ground clearance, and suspension travel?

Why do you even bother posting when you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground?

Man card? Pretty amusing. You say you've worked in the auto industry for a decade and still, apparently, don't know shit.

Stick to the wheel width threads, bro!

I remember for a fact that there is a guy on here with MGM 3rd gen that he lowered, but I couldn't find the thread, I think it was on the 'what have you done to your 3rd gen' thread, but good luck finding it in here...

not much help, but to confirm that a 3rd gen has been lowered.

Edit: Found a Silver Lowered 3rd gen:

OP - talk to guys with trucks at the track. From what I remember (haven't ridden for a few years) most will have a two-ramp setup - one for bike, one to walk on. First gear, feather the clutch, minimal throttle, up she goes. I've seen guys load sportbikes into lifted full-size trucks w/ no issues. I can see the appeal of having a lower tailgate, but the tradeoff is not worth the effort IMO.

TW is a great forum but most guys and girls here are into the stock or lifted look. I've been over on customtacos.com and there are more threads over there relating to lowered street trucks, I wasn't trying to be a dick by suggesting it. I think your question will generate more helpful responses there. It isn't as active as TW though

As has been said, this forum is offroad oriented.. we do have a street truck subforum but it's largely inactive in comparison and mostly first gen trucks. There's this lowering kit for 2016-2017 Tacoma's, but being that they're all at 4x4 height these days, the 2/3.5 drop doesn't accomplish as much as it used to. Hope it helps, though.

Not going to make much difference loading a bike, but will make a huge difference in the trucks ride geometry. Don't do it man.

Just man up and load like a normal person.

I can load and unload my Ducati 848 by myself, I have 2 ramps, once for the bike, and one that I use to run up with.

I have a lifted truck and a slammed truck....I love both...but it would be cool to see a bagged third gen with a plate bumper:)
