Looking to pull the trigger on some LED's for my low beams. However, noticed there are so many options. Just wanted some input from all of you. What are the best Plug and play LED bulbs with no fitment issues for our 16' Tacos? (Match our DRL etc)

    Best "Value for money" LED's?

    Thanks in advanced

Morimoto 2stroke LEDs, I have them in my lows and really like them. There's a big thread in here somewhere for them...

leds look pretty but lack the long beam pattern of a halogen. they are often unimpressive as far as actual output goes. i tried opt7 and couldnt see. i have piaa now and they are decent but they will be going away soon i hope for hid retrofit

but lumens dont always tell the whole story. leds are high lumen and very even spread. which is not ideal when you need further reach down road and less to the sides. which is the issue all leds have when you put a led bulb in a housing designed for a halogen bulb

There are many threads here about different LED bulbs for low beams. The general consensus seems that the OPT7 or OPT7 style bulbs will give a light color that matches the DRLs, is brighter up close and wider but with much less "throw" compared to stock halogens. Morimotos seem to be better than the OPT7s but with a higher price point but still not as good as traditional HIDs.

Stock halogen < LED < HID kit < HID retrofit.

    true....i can relate to that...

i did do a little search on Youtube last night...Hylux and other brand were compared with different bulb, lux was mentioned, I'm not a optical engineer, so, even a bare eye over the YouTube really can't tell the difference in those video scenarios.

I did fitted a Morimoto LED fog light to get over with it.

since i have the 3rd gen, I fitted a HID when my research told me HID still offer more lighting then LED...

i wish the poll could offer sometype of index what a person can look forward as result of what they want.

depending on what your priorities are id argue leds do not throw the same amount of light down the road and therefore cannot be better than stock halogens except for appearance which id argue is top notch. i think the best upgrade short of hid would be a h9 swap with some half decent bulbs. but then again ive seen peoples trucks disabled by subpar hid wiring. i can say the piaa's i have look great and the light thrown is borderline acceptable(really bad if roads are either new paved or wet)

...I literally said that LEDs (low beam) had much less throw than stock halogen lights.

true but then put stock halogens < leds. which is true for some and not for others. depends if you care more about seeing or being seen i guess

Woops sorry, i meant "/" in my initial post. I dont think LEDs are actually better for night time driving, but give the appearance that they are because of how bright things 10-15 are in front of them.

I put OPT7's in mine for high and low beam. I have to say that with the stock bulbs especially in low beam it was very hard for me to see the road. Now that I have LED's, I can see much better, they definitely light up the road. I believe they throw light just as far as the stock bulbs, but that is just my opinion. Mine have been in for about 8 months and I've had no problems. I got them on sale for $79.99 on EBay by buying 2 sets at a time.

You do know there's an option when you make a thread to have an actual poll....
