I find it challenging to stretch my feet in the back of a tacoma double cab, always seems about a foot too short for comfort.

How do people manage to sleep in the back of a bed of a double cab ? whats your strategy ?

Bed rack and a roof tent seems to be all the rage these days.

I sleep diagonally in it, not perfectly comfortable, but comfortable enough. It's only a 5' box, not much room to work with.

Im about 5 1/2 feet, and only 1 eyeball, therefore not too handsome,

Im wondering if there would be a way to pull the truck door down and use some kind of a camper bed extender that you could pull out from a bed base frame to wiggle your toes out of the truck bed, the downside would be that your truck bed would be open to the elements with your toes exposed to the wild animals at night...

Well.. only so many ways to squeeze 5.5 ft into 5 ft.

Maybe 3 pairs of socks would be enough protection.

Tailgate down. Plywood cut between the wheel wells extending past the tailgate. The an air up mattress on top.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
In bed tent if you don't wheel much on your trips. Ask @Dangerousd1987 setting up and tearing down those tents is laaame.

If you sweat enough in your crocs before you go to bed it's sure to keep wild animals from chewing on your toes.

Having some kind of a modular plywood bed extender seems like a clever solution, has anyone built one of those ?

I have not used a roof top tent but it seems like a lot of extra work if one were to roll out of camp early each morning. This is typically what I do when hunting and prospecting. It's easier for me to set a regular tent and leave it for the duration of my stay.

Is that an actual truck tent or did you just adapt it?
