Man, I gave links and stuff. READ. Do you think these people post broken shocks, just to bash spacers? The only people that like to run them, are the guys that cant afford, or don't want to afford, putting quality stuff on their trucks. Then run around trying to convince other folks that they made the best decision.

Agreed, you have to look close. Just about the same color but they are not styled the same. With that said, was there a spacer on it? Maybe the wrong spring with too much preload? Maybe just product failure? DOn't know, all I know is there is a lot of speculation and people jumping on the "spacers are the devil" (water boy voice) without a whole lot of proof. Yeah sure i'm sure sometimes the combo of a spacer and abuse do cause failures, they are few and far between.

I can, I choose not to. At least not for now. I also never once tried to convince anyone spacers are the best of anything, I have said just the opposite. I can tell you i'll take a lift block or shackle and nice shock over a noisy set of aftermarket leafs any day. Better? Maybe not but at least my truck doesn't sound like a rattle box. Lift blocks also get way worse a reputation than they deserve also. They've been around since forever and did and still do come from the factory on a lot of very heavy duty trucks that are driven very hard and take it like a champ.

Yes please! Body lift needs to go though or at last some gap guards.

    To play devils advocate here...

Lift spacers are what? 500 bucks? Right?

You can get 5100s, 885/886/888 springs and a AAL for like 800. Why would you do spacers when there are so many negatives about them besides the "look", especially when something thats quality is not much more, at all.

Really? This coming from a guy that doesn't know the difference between a lift for a solid axel, and one for an independent? FWIW, My Jeep isn't my only vehicle. ;)

You can get them for way under 100 bucks. IF you get bent over, you can expect to pay more.

Really, I don't? Huh, could have fooled me lol. Every single Jeep I ever owned was solid axle. Yes IFS is VERY different, every aspect of it. I actually hate it, wish SAS was simple but hey such is life.

You were the one saying that the spacer on your jeep was fine, so the spacer on your Tacoma is fine. 2 totally different animals bud.

My front 3" top plate spacers, front swaybar relocation brackets, rear 2.5" tapered blocks, rear Bilstein 5100 extended length shocks ran me a total of manybe $350 something like that. Bilstein 5100 front shocks and 888 coils can be had for about $400 plus or minus. If I upgrade the front, that'll be what I buy. Rear will stay as is.
