it takes a bit of getting use to idk how well i could do it anymore either. I wasn't trying to short change the value of getting your certs tp anyone it's just quite a bit different welding in a lab environment than having to get in all kinds of funky positions and welding on old rusty crap

I carry mine in the case under the rear platform, nothing special and has been beat around a little but not abused. Being a solid state device it should be able to handle it. I set a reminder in goggle calendar once a month to bring it in and charge it. I (usually) plug a device into it to discharge it, but not fully, first. Then after charging back up put it back in the truck under the platform. I have forgot to do the last part more than once

Hope it works well for you Rob, and that you don't need it on your own truck!

Same with my header , my motor revs higher and makes more hp now across a wider band . A motor is basically a air pump if you can get air into and out of it faster you'll make more hp / tq #'s

The headers on my Camaro are a stepped design with merge collectors . Basically at the cyl head they're 1-7/8th primary tube but about 8-10 inches from the cyl head they increase to 2" primary tube . Then at the Collector I've got a merge collector . This design header picked up a lot more hp plus my rpm range increased from 6800 to 7200rpm

The next set of headers will be made from Stainless steel !!!!

 Good idea on the reminder, I'll do that. Hopefully not, but you never know, I'm still on the OEM battery in the new truck and it cold soaks on work nights with no plug in for the block heater. I really wanted the power pack more for hunting trips and the side by sides; they don't have pull cords like a quad does, we've been out to Chicken in single digit overnight temps a few times. ;)

I use my smart phone appointment for stuff out side and truck and the out look calendar for in the house and garages . I figure if it is truck related and I need to buy stuff might as well get the reminder possibly already out and about or in the truck .

We're all MAC everywhere now; I gave up Windows since I don't bring work stuff home like I would on active duty. I get reminders for stuff on my iPhone, my iPad, and the desktop MAC; through some kind of smoke and mirror cloud based mystical force that knows a lot more than me. ;)

We were discussing briefly about keeping our trucks light yet functional. There is a thred on here called diet taco about doing just this. While it is helpful in many ways I've been looking through the builds to try and find some one with a capable truck with a 4 cyl that has not been regeared to commiserate and collaberate with. I'm trying to build this on a limited budget, make it functional for different terrains, yet retain most of it's performance and towing capabillities. Asking alot? Perhaps, however with some forethought and planning I think I can make it happen. As I'm figuring rt now with the planned add-ons it should only be about 300 pounds. I've had at least 500 in the bed and it was barely noticeable

The whole frigging state is like that...one big pothole. I drove 3/4 of the state 3 times last year and I still need to have the alignment done on my wife's truck because of it.

If it's a city or county road someone can call public works/roads and someone may react within 24 hrs unless the crews are out and they may catch it. If it's state, CHP non emergency line or CalTrans may respond but probably won't till there's a crash or they just happened to drive through and spill their coffee in the lap.
