For what you'll be doing with your truck your setup is more than adequate. I'm lifting my truck for "looks", same reasons I lower my cars. I'm not going to stop because someone says I shouldn't..

Just said your passing incorrect information. Look....Its ok to spend money on the wrong shit. A lot of folks do. But your gonna buy a bag of dog crap, and try to convince everyone its good stuff. Then try to convince folks your smart, and know things about these trucks, when you don't know the simplest things about them.

We're not running Baha here, its a street truck. I'll be just fine, same as 99% of other guys with spacers that understand their limits.

Coming from the guy who edits peoples posts is an attempt to talk shit lol seriously move on. I've wasted more than enough time on you. You'll NEVER convince me of a single thing, it's clear that goes for me to you as well.

Hey now....I think that was funny. I just like messing with folks who try to convince everyone they know everything about these trucks, when they (you) don't know very much at all. I'm not trying to convince you of anything, however, trying to clear up miss information you give.

    Re-gear a truck for a spacer-lift?

except they wont be fine, and this is what anyone who hasn't lifted their truck, is researching lifts or is buying parts for it now should know.

This thread here IS the largest for suspension discussion on TW+3rd Gen. THIS thread here is where people will end up when they want to look into "lifting a Tacoma". They will start at the finish line, the photo of the finshed lifted truck, and they will literally work back from that point. "I want my truck to look like xxxx, what (exact parts list) did he put on"?

knowing that, people should be informed of the no B.S. truth of what they are getting themselves into. Anything else is literally just self denial, and is pointless for any good message board's community.

I far from know everything about these trucks, never claimed I did. You don't know half what you think you do either. Now, want to talk Jeeps, chances are i'll run circles around you. For the literal 30th time, I never once claimed spacers were the best or the end all be all. Depending on your given use, there is nothing wrong with them. Install them and expect to run King of the Hammers, well, you probably shouldn't even be allowed to own tools.

So you guarantee failure with a spacer lift? Really, you sure?

Very true, I'm sure if I was up at Rausch Creek every weekend I would go a different route. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm more then happy with the way my truck is taking shape like many of the people on here with their trucks I'm sure.

Toytec Boss lift with rear add a leaf
The reason I came to this site is because I had a 2007 Tacoma sport prior to my current 2016 Tacoma sport.

Back to my 07... I had a rear leaf break and had it replaced with the tsb the 2nd gens had out on the leafs. I had it replaced with the 4 leaf instead of the 3 because I also towed. As a result, my front end was a lot lower than the rear. So I looked for a fix and I came across the cheap spacer lift to level the truck off. Little did I know at the time... because I really didn't know any better at the time.

After a little over a year driving like that with the spacer and stock coilovers my front end was toast. Needed new coilovers and uca's as a result.

After I bought my new 16 I new I would never, ever even consider putting on spacers again. After months of researching, reading, and asking questions I ended up going with the boss 2.0 lift because it was a full kit and I wanted to do it right from the beginning. Are there better options out there, yes, but for my needs the boss was the best option for me. Yes, it cost more than I wanted to spend, but at the same time I knew I'd be paying again anyway in the near future because I know what the end result was with a spacer lift.

Hope this helps anyone contemplating the 2 choices.

I remember a time when this thread had useful information and was not what's it's been the past few pages... For any newbies, please ignore anything read about spacers, they suck, period and there are many, many better options for not and whole lot more money. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Don't destroy a nice new truck with the cheapest suspension possible just to obtain a look. Not worth it. Do you need to spend thousands of dollars on the best kits out there? No.. But you sure as hell shouldn't buy the cheapest either.

I think he's mad because the salesman that he got a hold of, talked him into financing a $3500 lift that he now knows was a waste of money........
