Neither. My Taco is nice, but after living with it for 3 years, an SUV would be a better choice for my family and myself. The backseat is too small for kids, engine power and luxury features absent and I have almost no need for a pickup. Full size fixes the power and luxury, but at the expense of mileage and sanity in parking lots. A V8 SUV with a small trailer is my next purchase.

    Same as everybody else...
I dropped by my local Toyota dealer and walked the lot looking at Tacomas and Tundras today. Going strictly by the sticker on the door....a 2016 TRD,DCSB 4x4 with V6 was 36k and change. Next to it was a 2016 Tundra Dual Cab, 4x2 with a V6 (I think) for 35k. I realize that I'm not comparing Apple's to Apple's but the Tundra was nicely equipped, not a stripped down rig. If I were buying new the Tundra would be my choice cause it fits my needs as well as the Tacoma. I know these prices are negotiable but I was a little surprised how inexpensive the Tundra was.

I feel the same and in similar situation having kids. The Tacoma's power, ride quality, interior space and luxury options are mediocre, especially compared to the my old 99' Tahoe LT 4x4. If Toyota would put the current Tundra front end on the Sequoia, I'd be all over it. Not sure why they haven't given it a remodel yet.

Tundra. I like my 2011 DCSB Off-road, but it is too small inside and out, and struggled to tow my 4 seat Rzr 800. If Toyota ever puts a diesel in the Tundra, I'm gonna sell my soul and first born to the devil and buy one.

Tacoma works for me as well, I don't mind the Tundra though either, just didn't need the full size. Next full size should I need it, will have a diesel.

I love my Tacoma DCLB. I'd love it more if it had Tundra power.

Tacoma, as I can not stand the style of the tundra or the size. The first gen tundra's have better styling but I would still take a Tacoma.

for fun I love the tacoma. but as for hauling and pay load the tundra is the way to go. I've had both and let go of the tundra though. loved both trucks. will eventually get a tundra again.

I wish Toyota sold a full ton pickup with a diesel like they sell everywhere but here. I love my tacoma but it's a little light, tundra closer but I want a full ton pickup ie. f-350 or 450 with a long bed and double cab.

Next truck will probably be a Tundra. No way I am buying a Gen3 Tacoma. Considering a bigger boat and maybe larger for TT for hunting lease. Drove F150s for most of my life so I am use to full size pickups.

I'm planning on keeping the Taco, for as long as I can. Once my girlfriend's lease is up, we are giving back her Chevy Trax and looking to buy a 4-Runner though. So that can be the grocery-getter / family machine (if we have kids). I prefer mid-size trucks, so in that case, I can stick with a Tacoma and not need the bigger Tundra.

Tacoma DCLB. I don't tow anything so I have no need for a V8. The Tacoma handles dump runs and hauls compost just fine. I test drove a 2016 4.6L Tundra on a narrow, bumpy, and windy country road and it handled like a barge. The Tacoma (2016 TRD Sport DCLB and the used 2014 I ended up with) felt a lot more stable on that same road. And the Tacoma fits, barely, in my garage.

I, like a lot of people, bought a Tacoma for its size. It's perfect for the majority of my needs. But with that said, if they left it the same size, but gave it the 5.7 V8 I would pick one up in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd probably even take a 4.6 V8. The 4.0 V6, though reliable, just seems 'meh' for me. If I had that extra power I doubt I'd have the itch for a sports car on the side.
