Thanks for the reply, that's pretty much what I'm seeing. With the auto I don't get above 3k unless it downshifts and goes to open loop. I'm running 4.56 gears and it's an fj so basically a flying brick on the fwy, heavy winds and hills have their effect. I did the oem fpr mod last night as well, can't really tell that much of a difference yet after doing it.

Damn, I thought yours was a 2014 and the TSB didn't apply.

I bet they will cover it under warranty. They probably run across this issue on a regular basis and know exactly what to do. The bulletin says it's a 22 hour job to do both heads. There's probably an additional few hours on top of that for diag and additional labor for the supercharger. The Technician and the dealer both WANT that work in their shop so hopefully they can convince Toyota it's warranty related.

Curious, how many miles are on your truck?

You shouldnt feel any sort of power difference with the mod, its just a safty for those who have gone past stock capabilities of their injectors. If you run full throttle to redline and are seeing 11.3ish or less then you dont need to do the mod. If you are higher in the 11s then you should as a safty.

Truck is 2013 trd sport 4x4 with only 39000 or so. I really hope they cover it. The thing is the dealer couldn't figure out what the problem was. Me being a nice guy I sent them a link to the TSB on the 2015s issue with the heads.
Edit: not sure if true. Don't want to give false info.

Got a call from Toyota a few minutes ago. Cylinder 4 had a cracked piston. He hits me with it's not covered under warranty... but it's covered under the manufacture warranty. So it's covered and I don't have to pay shit!!! :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

Holy crap! How long was it like that? Did it happen when you put on the SC?

I would surely hope the SC is not the reason!

For anyone who is working on the install still here is what I found about the 2.85 pulley and the bully dog tune. The installer I talked to here in Utah said that the only way they have gotten the smaller pulley to work with the BD tune is with the stock intake. Even with an aftermarket fuel pump it still will run too lean if you have an aftermarket intake.

Even with the stock intake my truck running the bd and 2.85 pulley is having same issues as others.

What can I use to see when I'm in open or closed loop? Gadget says the Toyota ecu flash has it so it goes open loop when in boost meaning anytime there is + psi? If that's the case think I'm going to call the dealer...

Check engine light came on about two weeks. Tried clearing the code a few times with no luck. Drove it 100 miles with no light. Then it popped back up.
I not sure if its supercharger related. Hard to say. Don't want to point the blame.

Has anyone contacted BD or Magnuson about their issues?

ScanGaugeII or similar. ECU can't see boost, closed loop is somehow based on air flow and gas pedal position = load, I think.

Anyone running a scangauge to confirm when they are going into open loop?

When people say in boost are they talking about anytime there is positive psi? Or boost as in open loop and hauling ass?

My installer has talked to both about the addition of the 2.85 pulley. BD confirmed that the 2.85 tune is only for stock intakes but it sounds like even then some people are having issues.
