I wish I could say I have. It 2012 we went out via a side trip to Houston so we came into Moab from the south through Arizona New Mexico. In 2015 I flew out to Salt Lake City and drove down in a rental. Last year I took 70 in through Denver and drove through grand junction to go to Moab. We were thinking about taking the Coco Pele trail but never ended up doing it because we decided to go to Zion national Park.
I could spend all my vacations out there

 

Making me want to book a flight right now.

I'm gonna plan a drive out trip, wanna take my truck out next time I go. Just gotta decide when I'm gonna do it. Need to do a few more things to the truck though first.

 

RT is supposed to be in October this year...

Couldn't agree with you more. We took a detour from our drive from PA to Los Angeles and spent a day making that drive. My wife and kids had never seen the Rockies, so I wanted to ensure that they did. My kids still talk about it. I found it funny that when you look at down at Silverton it looks pretty similar to Silvertown in Joe Dirt.

Drive out with me in May. I'm looking for a road trip buddy. I'll be heading out and dumping stuff in a storage container, then going to Expo West, and finishing off with a two week trip following the Old Spanish Trail thru NM, CO, UT, AZ, NV, and maybe CA. Still trying to figure out how to fit all that in with 2 weeks of vacation days.

 

Hells Gate has been done by some pretty unlikely vehicles. It's 100% about line choice and straddling that gap perfectly.

zoom out, smack dab in the middle of De Beque and Mesa on 45 1/2 rd. (aka 65) That little bridge, Roan Creek Rd, right about where the "ding" in trading is, is where we go to get the water tanks filled.

Pffffft. All that in 2 weeks. Holy crap

 

Hoping to do something similar for RT this year. Planning on taking off for 2 weeks.

Moved to China for a bit when I was 18 because I had $2k from my first job saved up. People don't realize you can pretty much always make shit happen if you want it to.

 

Lol tell that to my wife. It's much easier to make no fucks given moves when you only have your own life to worry about haha. We have talked about doing it later in life but we are far from that point yet.
