I figured sooner or later we'd be doing some modification to it since it was built for stock fenders

 

Way too expensive for a switch panel, as nice as it may be. I wish I could afford one lol

 

THat's my thought. If you get a project box from like Orvac or Hobby Lobby, and actually spends some time being clean with your wiring and labelling/etc. you could do something very similar. It may cost you less $, albeit way more time, but I love electrical work so that doesn't bother me at all.

 

I really want to clean up my wiring one of these days. I know jack shit about electrical work aside from *plug this wire into this wire. thanks wiring harness kit* next time I see you can I pick your brain on how to do up a fuse block or electrical block thingy so I don't have such a mess under the hood?

 

Wanna do my electrical work for me then? I'll pay you in craft beer, I've got a closet filled with special goodies that are no longer brewed

It's pretty straight forward .. A fuse block definitely helped me my shit looked like a rat nest before i got one.

 

It really is the way to go. I learned some idiot mistakes when I put mine together. Considering pulling it apart and running it all again better this time.

Not much. Just my ditch lights and light bar. But I plan (eventually) to get reverse/asshole lights, and a rear amber, and under-rail lighting for the bed.

I'm not sure if I want to do switches like you got or get a knock off spod type of deal and put it in that useless cubby by my steering wheel. I'm leaning more towards the knock off spod though just to keep everything consolidated to one spot.

So it is just something that connects to the battery for power and ground? To me I just see a rectangle with a bunch of screws in it and no idea how to use it.
Is one side pos and one side neg and it simply is just a remote source to plug into power and ground?

 

yep thats it lol well grounds on top portion positives lower portion but ya its very simple

 

That lighting would be easy to do. You'll want the fuse block either way, I dunno if anyone makes a mounting plate like the Pelfrey one for you 3rd genners yet though? Under truck lighting I would recommend deciding what all you want to do and dragging it all in 1 shot. 1 nice clean jacketed cable the whole way back and a few extras for expansion/etc.

 

Yup literally. There's a positive bus which I put a circuit breaker that is rated the same as the max amperage of the block. The negative goes direct to the battery.

Each screw is 1 fuse and 1 circuit.

 

Doesn't sound nearly as complicated now.

And now I'm all fucked up again
kidding. BUT a circuit breaker... is that needed or just for protection?

 

ya low voltage wiring pretty easy ive done all of mine 6 pods , lightbar , retro headlights, raptor lights, turn signals etc.. i did some of mikes too

 

Protection. A breaker is like a big fuse that trips instead of blows. You can reset a breaker.

 

Bingo bango. 12v DC is fucking easy mode electrical.
