I'm not disputing that WC is a whole different level than HF, because it definitely is. There was stuff there- including yellows- that my truck would not have stood a chance on. I'm just saying if your truck is moderately geared (as mine was), you're comfortable driving off-road (as I am), you can live with body damage (which I could), and you have someone guiding you to avoid the dangerous stuff (which I did), you can absolutely have a blast out there. It was my first time ever wheeling and I did just fine, because my spotters were excellent and knew the lay of the land so they could help me avoid the worst of it instead of try to overcome that stuff.

If you're not checking all of those boxes, plan on being a passenger and not a driver because WC will eat your truck up.

One dude had a factory-geared jeep with some sort of off-road package. He scraped the crap out of his underside and nearly ripped his rear diff/axle off. His spotters sucked and he wasn't a great driver.

I also got to ride shotgun in my buddy's built TJ- full armor, crazy suspension... it was awesome. He bashed the hell out of that thing.

I am down for a day trip. So if you or anyone is out there I will gladly join.

Although, maybe I should look at getting a CB for this trip? :notsure:

Having a CB is useful. I think Saturday, January 28th is the day to be there. I'll be camping out with some buddies the night before, doing some night wheeling, and then riding on Saturday until I have to come home that evening. Should be fun and likely a few TW folks there.

As Wayne said, a CB comes in handy. You could just get a handheld if you don't want to wire it permanently into the truck.

My buddy just got a midland and it seems to be pretty good.

@sarsaparilla and I were talking about spending a weekend out there by the end of the month. Maybe we can combine the trips.

A friend with a runner wants to go also!

I am perfectly fine with mounting one in the truck. Problem I have is what do I buy? I know nothing about CB radios. But if y'all can help me with what to buy and antenna install (which I should be able to do anyway) I will get one.

    Shopping list for you:
    Cobra 75WXST
FireStik antenna in your choice of color/length (longer = more range, shorter = fine for basic off-roading. I have an extra 4' antenna you can have if you want it.)
up to 18' of coax cable, depending on where you decide to mount (hood/windshield, behind cab on bedrail, rear of truck.)
Mount for your chosen location (relentless makes a bedrail one, shmellfab makes a tailgate one, and I'm sure there are lots more.)
Antenna Spring (I went medium duty for more flexibility)
    FireStik K4A coax stud

Viola, now you have a fully functioning CB system that can be disconnected when not in use. All of that can be ordered on Amazon besides the mount, depending on where you want it mounted.
