    I still like the foam pad in the bed of the truck and a cathole, although that cabin on the lake looks awful nice.

    Now that makes all the sense in the world and hits the sweet spot. Just add fresh water and go!

    Living here is a lot like living in Asheville, half an hour to an hours drive puts you in the middle of quite a few good fishing spots. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. I can drive where I need to go easier than camp and everyone else in the State it seems converges here to camp and play. But at times tempted to just get out and go in a different direction.

    Thanks! We've built it for the express purpose of doing a oneyear tour of North America
    Talented? We don't get called that very often but we get by

    The teardrop is almost a cabin on wheels. I've got 40 gallons of water, an instant on water heater for showers, a privy house for a sit down chitter, full kitchen with wine cabinet, and more. Plus my cabin goes wherever I go.

    Think it out. Draw it out. That's how we wound up with a basement in our teardrop. We came up with a rule that anything that was part of a campsite had to have a place to live in the teardrop. So, chairs, tables, awnings, shower, etc live in the 'drop. Anything that needs to stay mobile (tools,kayaks, etc) live in the truck.

    Is 23,000 enough to make your balls bark?

    My bathroom isn't always warm, although I guess it could be if I had enough beans the night before. ..

    For overnight trips the teardrop can't be beat. No setup. Park, unhitch (or not). Open basement, grab a chair- boom! living room. Open the back hatch - boom! Kitchen. Open side door - boom! Beddy bye! Doesn't get easier. ...

    The Cabelas 3" deluxe cot pad is perfect for that

    Until the rain starts and you have to use the cathole in the middle of the night. I have put the easy up over the rear of the truck and used a bucket with a lid on it before. The plastic toilet kind that snaps onto a 5 ga. plastic bucket and a plastic bag inside of the bucket. And a bit of cat litter in it does wonders. Pretty sure who ever came up with tent vestibules had that in mind :)

    You can have the lift kit put on the next size down 17' but if you think a tear drop is pricey lol Umm What you see in that picture decked out like mine is ( I bought used) would cost you every bit of 25k if you bought this one http://escapetrailer.com/trailers/the-17-foot-escape/ order now for a Escape 17’ – November 17 and 27, 2017 oh and 2 bucks a mile for delivery if you do not go to Chilliwack , BC . Mine 19' todays price closer to 32k

    Just pulled this off the owners site they advertise when they have one or two that people backed out on and btw they never go more then about a month with out being sold.

    I don't think I'd do more than a long weekend/week, but that's pretty much what I have in mind but still with my long-standing premise of "if you can't draw it on a c-ration box, it's too complicated". I will take it to some detail though...and it will have a basement, dry and secure gun/ammo storage, water, some solar (limited to very simple), propane stove and the biggest detail is "modular". I'm going to build it as a "roll off" to go on and off my motorcycle trailer which sits more than anything but is still necessary since I own baggers and there's no way I'm picking those up to put in the back of a truck.

    25000 isn't bad. My 23000 teardrop doesn't include labor costs for two people for a year of weekends

    ?
    Labor for two people ? People get a little shell shocked unless they know what they are looking at, it is full fiberglass as long as you wash and wax it once a year it will most likely last 20 plus years and still sell for a decent amount even then. If you order one the company will pretty much customize it to what you want with in reason and yes you do pay for it but beats having to do it your self later . I won't be getting rid of mine any time soon if I do it is to go with one of these .:}

    http://www.renegaderv.com/verona-le-0 with a closed trailer for the truck and a small portable shop and moving on down the road :}

    Yes and no. It would be nice but I don't want multiple trailer tags to keep up with and I want to store it and not take up a whole lot of room doing it. My last trailer was a 21' and, functionally, it was really no better for me than a teardrop. It worked great as my 2nd home during the week away from home, but with 2 people it didn't serve any better and I can't get it into alot of places I want to go. Beside, if I did something like that again, I wouldn't have the excuse to build one.

    I was wondering who built that, thanks. It has the lines of the old small Scamps, but obviously is not a Scamp LOL. I like it.

    And my space is limited. Right now my trailer and my son's truck are both in my backyard where, eventually, my shed/shop/motorcycle mini barn (12'×16') is going to sit.
