So you're saying to go with second gen and get the blower? I was thinking that third gen would do better because of the lighter engine.

Truck is heavier, no? It's not like it's an all aluminum stroker, it's an under programmed fuel economy motor with mid range torque.

Doesn't compare at all to a blown 4.0, and again.. superchargers are readily available for that motor.

Sounds like you need to do some of your own research and make a choice for your needs/wants.

Well i doubt anyone really 'needs' more power than the current tacoma. It's just nice being able to overtake people on the freeway without taking forever to speed up.

Do all of you just deal with the power, or is it truly bugging anyone. Specs are only numbers.

Don't get me wrong everyone. I absolutely love the new tacoma. I've been inside of one numerous times. It's a gorgeous beast, I just have trouble thinking of the numbers

I'll do some more looking but i've heard a lot of reliability issues with some of these.

The new Tacoma is like the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz. Heart of a lamb.

Very funny haha. Yes over here in hawaii the roads are very overgrown and there isn't physically enough room to fit a tundra or 150. Not to mention the trails basically become overgrown 2 weeks after the trim. Most have pretty much given up on extensive trail mantnience

Did they stop, or just not catch up?
