    Fellas,

I need some help cuz my truck's going crazy.
First off all I just got my truck back from the dealership 3 days ago for the front timing cover oil leak TSB and it took them two days to get it done, and thanks for the people of tacomaworld for the info.

So last night I decided to do the halogen back up light mod
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/63235-my-auxiliary-backup-lights.html
And went to auto zone and bought the sylvania 886 bulbs 12.8V 55W. After installation, everything was good I did some numerous tests last night and everything was G2G.

Now, this morning getting ready to go somewhere and I just notice my Airbag light was on, then came my turn signals aint working, speedometer gauge aint working, back up lights not working, ABS light came on, A/C wont turn on as well. WTF?

So I went back and checked my work last night, checked the back up bulbs. bulbs aint blown, all the fuses are good. Could'nt figure out WTF have I done? So I decided to make an appointment with the dealership so I could bring it in tommorow. Now my question is am I still covered under the powertrain warranty on some of these issues? Im at 42K miles so im already out of the basic warranty. And could it be the TSB work they had just done 3 days ago? Just wanted to get some more info before I walk in to the dealer tommorow.

    Thanks for the time!

There are many guys on this website that go absolutely crazy when things go wrong and go into the dealership and start demanding the fixes. I'm not familiar with the how to's on fixing the problems. But, remember that these guys at the service department at Toyota dealers are taking a beating from everyone that is coming in with all the recall stuff.
Just go in, with your hat in your hand and sugar coming out of your mouth and show them respect, you will get the same in return, I would not doubt if you do that, they may be no charges for any of your fixes. I try to always remember, when going to see someone about my problem, you never know what they are dealing with at home, there could be things in their lives that our minds do not want to comprehend.
    Good Luck...

Dought the tsb did any thing, you would of had problems right away.
It sounds like you may have fried something when you installed the back lights.
you could disconnect everything you installed and see if it does any good, but the damage may already be done.
you may have to check all your fuses to see if any other systems where effected.
it will all depend on how exactly you wired everything, any pinched wires, etc

Check the IGN1 fuse in the drivers side block. It is a 10 amp fuse and the only one related to all the circuits you have issue with. Third row from the bottom, middle fuse. With all the loads on the circuit your backup lamp mod could have blown the fuse due to the current flow of a couple 55w bulbs.

That is where I would start based on your concerns and a quick review of the wiring schematic for the truck listed in your info.

I had returned the old bulb in... I had checked most of the fuses and nothing's blown.

    Thanks!
