I have ScanGauge in my FJ, that's how I know is it closed or open loop. Fuel trims are also very useful info.

For those with the automatic transmission, how are your shift points?

"How" are they? Something in specific you are looking for? Roughness of shifting? RPMs at which the gear change occurs?

    Help us help you!

Sucks to hear. Maybe it was already failing and the SC put it over the edge. At least its covered under the warranty or TSB. Hope it is back up and running soon.

Just in general. Mine shifts smoothly but from gears 1-3 it shifts so fast that its like they aren't even there.

Just curious how everyone else's changed after installing the supercharger.

Mainly curious about those with the Magnuson and BD combo. I think it is safe to say that the BD tune has some different characteristics than the TRD reflash.

Are you on the bd tune? Do you go into open loop when any boost (positive psi) is present?

Ha okay I will stay out of it then. I was just thinkin that some clarity would help out.

FWIW on the reflash my truck shifts HARD 1-3 and bangs through gears. The higher numbers are much smoother.

Sounds similar to mine. It is still pretty smooth but its so fast I am like WTH just happened.

No, Unichip. It's closed loop quite a long, it's almost at full throttle when it's open. So, there is quite a lot boost in closed loop too (I have not a boost gauge).

Mine runs great on the BD tune, but I tend to be easy on it since I don't have an AFR gauge hooked up yet. Shifts are similar to what has been mentioned here already. I have the stock pulley and was wanting to upgrade to the 2.85" this spring. I'm leaning against that given all the issues mentioned here. Hopefully BD can get us an updated tune that performs better without throwing codes... but I'm not going to hold my breath for that.

That's the normal operation from what I keep reading. I was looking at getting the urd afr cal, you are able to richen up the closed loop with it. Although for a little more can get the map ecu 3 for more adjustability.

I never thought I would get this entailed into engine management haha

I just got an email back from magnuson today that they may be adding more tunes in the future but for now their goal was to get one well functioning tune that was CARB compliant

Thanks for the info. I started with the factory intake. 18 AFR @ WOT. While what the Utah guy said may be true, it doesnt apply to whatever was going on with my Bully Dog tune. There was something seriously ass backwards with the 2.85 tune on my truck.

A Bully Dog tune that actually works on my truck would be nice. The two I have to choose from now are useless to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :fingerscrossed:

It was a dealer accessory. As far as I know, they've never installed them at the factory.

So it's not covered, but it's covered? WTF does that even mean? Lol

Either way, I'm glad you're off the hook for paying! How long do they expect it to take to get the repairs done? Free loaner?

Have you checked to see if it is the tuner itself? Mine was corrupt and I had to get a new tuner from BD.

That's right. AFR, MAF or O2 cal, which the best one? Here is Gadget's handout e.g. about loops: http://gadgetonline.com/U-Tune.pdf
