On a side note, I think I'm going to pull the carpet out of my shell this year.. anybody know how much of a pain in the dick that might be? I'm assuming they hose it down with 3M glue and then press the fabric on like anybody would.

 

Because now the world knows...the tacomaworld knows

 

If it's like my shell the carpet goes underneath the bracket things that hold the windows in. That might bean a pain as well.

 

It's a SnugTop, I'd imagine if one shell is done that way then most are. Is yours the same brand?

At this point, the windows don't bother me if they have to come out. I want to address the leaks, and I can add carpet when it's fixed and dry.

 

And? Bought mine off of a non TW-er on CL, sold it, what 2 years later on CL and to another non TW-er for muuuuuch more than I bought it

 

Mine is a snug top as well. Mine leaks through the water drains in the windows. I've been thinking about doing something about it.

Also when I open the rear hatch is directs all the water into the bed of the truck When it's raining. I'm thinking about putting some kind of weather stripping along the outside top of the window to redirect the water.

While we're on the subject of snugtops. For my Hi Liner for my 03' I've been wanting to replace the driver sliding window with a windoor. I just got a quote from Campway Truck and Accessory in San Jose. The windoor by itself is $369. Installation is another $65. I'd probably install it myself. I was thinking it would be a lot more than $369.

Not me. Mine is a higher end shell than that one but not in that good of condition. Needs some chips filled and some paint work to look new.

It was a great deal compared to new cost, but it's got some beauty marks. Lol

$2600 was new price for my shell.

 

Oh believe me, I don't mine beauty marks or scratches. I've got matched paint and filler. It'll get holes drilled eventually. Just looking for a shell, and not looking to spend a shit ton.
