It is possible, but I walked through the tune install on the phone with Bully Dog and everything worked like they said it should. Since yours was corrupt, how did you know?

The installer couldn't get it to work. They talked through it with BD and found the firmware was corrupt.

Oh , that's a different issue than I had then. I think hardware and firmware wise, my Bully Dog is functional. It will successfully go through the flashing process without fail. Whatever file it loads on my ECU is not compatible though.

So what we've learned here folks is that it's not Bully Dog's fault for all the issues, it's this CARB crap.

I'm still a bit stunned - maybe skeptical - that the BD tune is substantively different from the TRD flash. I'm no lawyer and I'm no engineer but it seems to me that if Magnuson designed the charger they should have had access to the ECU code and design parameters from the get-go. If Bully Dog had to reverse engineer the tune or create one from scratch, well, I guess Toyota has better lawyers than Magnuson.

And I think we could also assume that Toyota's software engineers are better than Bully Dog's ...

You might be absolutely right, but I have long since given up attempting to understand decisions that are made on the corporate level. Companies at times will hand over the crown jewels but fight tooth and nail over minutiae.

Of course it's carb, makes sense they had to lean the shit out as much as possible to pass haha

I already have a maf cal but not running it currently. Don't know if they will help the closed loop tuning, that's more what the afr cal does. I ordered another o2 bung to move it up at the exhaust manifold. Maybe that will give me different readings

And thanks to NDAs and other corporate legal maneuvers, we'll probably never know..

I'd be interested to know if there is a non-CARB compliant tune we could get on our tuners.

+1. UltraGauge displays similar information, in addition to AFR Commanded Ratio and Lambda.

Unfortunately, my supercharger remains boxed, waiting for springtime install. :anonymous:

Was told should take about a week or so. And sure am glad it's covered under some sort of warranty. Never asked for a loaner. I can see my work from my house and takes less then 5 minutes to walk. I don't mind the exercise. Even though that's what I do through out the day. Im delivering everyone's online order goodies.

I'm really relieved that they are fixing it under warranty. I've been trying to keep calm and stay positive.

No I'm on the TRD flash now. Doggy poo all cleaned up but there's still a smell, haha.
