I bought a Qi phone case for my iPhone 6s so I could try out the wireless charging. It works and I like it but not enough to replace my Lifeproof case.

Don't use it yet, but will once I upgrade from iPhone 6 to note 7.

So much more reliable than having dangling USB cables that eventually start to cut off while charging everytime you move to cable.

Galaxy S7. I actually don't have my Tacoma yet but I use the Qi system at home all the time. I did try it out in the test drives i've done and works great in the Tacoma too.

What cases are folks buying for the iPhone 6, a couple have been mentioned, but would love to see more options. Is it worth replacing my life proof case for?

I have the spigen tough armor qi charging case. It's good but has no protection on the screen. I'm not sure it would be a replacement for your life proof unless you didn't care about losing some of the protection.

Well I bought a otterbox commuter series case for my galaxy s7, replacing my defender series. The truck will charge thru this case, but it is still very slow and gets very hot. I have been testing it and found it does not matter if it's a bare phone or in the new case, it charges at the same speed. In a hour and 10 minute commute it charges my phone 23%. Case on of off it charged the same speed. Now I know.

My iPhone charges relatively fast in my case. It depends on what the percentage that my phone is at but usually it takes an hour to get to a full charge.

Doesn't surprise me. I'm sure it will come next year with the redesign. I wouldn't put it past apple though to come up with their own standard of wireless charging though.

I use all the time. At work and at home. Not in the truck, don't have it there.

Probably the year after, though it could happen in 2017. Apple likes a tick-tock on designs and they didn't really redesign this year as much as tweak, making it third year in this format.

There were cases and pads you could add to earlier iPhones, I'm sure they'll have them for iphone7 though that headphone thing may complicate matters for those who still use wired headphones.

Did you ever find a case for your S6 that will work with the Qi charging system??

I've been an avid user of Qi wireless charging for a few years now. I've moved on from Google Nexus phones (RIP) and I've had a Samsung GS7 Edge since it launched last year in March. I use the Qi pad in my truck everyday as I head to work and back home.

Otterboxes are sometimes too "beefy" for wireless charging to make contact. For those of you with a Samsung S6/S7 try looking into phone cases made by Pelican. Excellent protection from a well known brand and the design will allow you to make contact with a wireless charger as they are much less beefy/chunky.

I recently changed my 2013 Nexus 5 smartphone to a new 2016 ZTE Axon 7. One of the things I loved about the Nexus was the Qi wireless charging. That was a minor factor in buying the Tacoma. I wanted to continue wireless charging with the Axon 7, and leverage my investment in Qi wireless charging pads throughout my home and office. The Axon 7, as with all other smartphones with a metal back, does not natively support wireless charging. I found a QI wireless charging membrane on Amazon that plugs into the USB C connector on the phone and the membrane adheres to the smartphone back. I installed the membrane under the hybrid case and now my Axon 7 charges wirelessly. I will probably always have a phone with wireless charging now.
