I'm writing the How to turbo your 5VZ-FE thread right now with the title "How To Turbo Your 5VZ-FE, A General Walkthrough." I have 11 points I'm highlighting and so far I have 1,037 words, I'm trying to be as thorough as possible. :D

Hmmm Maybe I should change the "A General Walkthrough" part lol

You shouldn't do a walkthrough or how to. I think we need a 5vz turbo info thread. Divided into sections. Gather all the info from all the turbo builds here. Like...

Turbo - size of different turbos people are using, what rpm are they getting full boost at, what is recommended by some as the one to use, performance out of different ones, oil cooled or water etc.

Intercooler - placement, size, air- to air or water, etc.

Piping - size of post turbo piping, where the best place to route it, etc

Waste gate - where to run wastegate pipe

Exhaust - what size exhaust guys are running, where they used flex piping, what muffler

MAF - pre or post, adapters used. Where exactly is it mounted.

Fuel - stock system limits, pump sizes to use, injector sizes to use.

ECM - what people are using to tune there truck, what seems to work the best?

Oil/water lines - where did you tap to get oil/water. Size fittings to use

    And any other notes

That's exactly what it is actually :D The 11 points I have cover all of those things. Some things are specific to my build such as using the AEM F/I C 6 since that is the only thing I can describe since I haven't used any other piggyback. Don't worry though it's pretty thorough, the title isn't final :D

And if it's too non specific, as in not a how too than it will turn into a general how to turbo thread.

I would say start the thread and just edit as you go, or use place holders and edit it later. Each post will have different info. 1st post would be turbo, 2nd post will be manifold and intercooler, etc..etc...

Anybody who has information they would like to provide they can post it and you can edit the post that relates to it.

Boy, it was real expensive thats for sure :bananadead:

I wont need an upgrade for a long time at least.

Congrats on jumping on the tuning train early! I did all the maintenance and engine/trans building crap until I hated it for years, and now am finally starting my journey into tuning. :burnrubber:

Yeah that's a benefit to a brand name turbo, the cheap ones are good to get started with though. As far as tuning goes, the hardest part for me is figuring out what everything means lol

While thats a good strategy, I'd rather release all of the organized info into one completed thread. Helps me sleep at night ;)

Lol sorry I was tired and half thinking about this thread and other things. The actual thread title ( not the final one) says "how to" :D

Did you just download the aem software onto your laptop then hook it up to the FIC?

The ONLY THING I really did not do on my truck was tuning that thing.....but I want to keep tuning it because I know I can get more power. I'm at 310whp + .

I want to turn up the boost and fine tune my ebc.....also I can put in bigger methanol nozzles.....

Just wondering how user friendly it is.
