Anyone seen this before? Happened a few times already when I started the truck, everything powers up but nothing appears on the head unit screen for 5 min or so?! Touchscreen still works but you can't see anything.

I haven't seen nor heard of this happening to anyone. That just appears to be defective. I would take it back to dealership to have a new one installed.

I just had a new head unit installed after the same issue but for not as long, and it ate my cds.

Turns out it does this in the cold only.
Very strange. If it's below freezing it takes 10 miniutes for the screen to kick in. About freezing temp everything is normal.

This happened for me a few times. I told them when I did my 15,000km service. They told me there was a Navigation update. While the maps are updated and the design looks a tad new, this issue also stopped happening. Good luck

I am now on my 3 rd head unit, my first one only ate my cds, the second bately stayed on and no nav... the 3rd takes forever too boot up and still constantly reboots... this is a joke. So tired of my truck being at the dealership.

Haha I read this and thought "I wonder if mine has a CD slot?"

    Welcome to 2017 I guess...

Perhaps it's a safety feature. I know our toughbooks in the cars at work have to warm up in subfreezing Temps before you can use them

Warming up i could see having issues, but i can literrally remote start the truck wait 10 min hop in and drive for 30 min or more and not listen to a single moment of music. And then on the drive back it will work the whole way. Its very speratic and the radio has a mind of its own.
