Armed robber shot dead after trying to hold up a gun shop

Georgia-
CCTV footage shows two men wearing ski masks pointing their guns at a customer and 64-year-old shop owner, Jimmy Groover.

But rather than hold his hands up in a plea for mercy, the grandfather reached for his own gun and opened fire, killing one of the robbers as the other ran for his life.

Groover later said he had ‘no choice’ but to shoot the man, reports 13wmaz.

The incident happened at 11am on December 26 while two customers were inside the shop.

Groover shot one of the robbers twice, sending him straight to the floor.

One of the suspects is on the run and wanted by police.

It is unlikely charges will be brought against the grandfather, police said.

 

Morning! Leaving the house without a jacket or fleece or anything seemed kind of weird this morning

 

I went out to start the cars this morning before heading out to work, walked outside, did an about face and headed back in. Amazing how 48* in the morning can feel pleasant.

I've always said that 26 & sunny with no wind is a perfect day.

 

WOW, didn't expect many to agree with me (except Rob of course). At work everyone is so pumped it's 50F outside and I'm about to go postal on them.

Guess I'll be taking the wheeler AGAIN this weekend fishing. Sled is so much more fun.

 

My yard is a complete mud pit, I hate it. I at least want the ground frozen.
