I just got my truck and want to build a prep/gear bag to keep in the truck at all times. Never really done this before so here's a chance for the pros to recommend and fill my bag for me.
Looking for the must haves, tools and essential gear to keep in the truck all year round.

    Notes:
    -I live in Canada
    -I'm very mechanical
-I'll be doing some overland camping in the summer months here
-I have a little one with a car seat behind the driver side

Just post a link to the gear you recommend and I'll start ordering as I go.

    Have fun!

This is the bag to fill:

OP.. you need more like this...

    Axe/Chainsaw/tow straps/shovel/4 big bottles of CDN whiskey/flashlight/fleshlight/candles/matches/lighter/knife/jumper cables/shotgun w bird shot and slugs/5 gal gas/water/extra pants and boots/clean underwear/metal grate for campfire/pots and pans/a 24 pack of military rations/cell phone/satellite phone/metric tools/good off road jack/milk and bottle for kid/solar charger for truck or phones/toilet paper/diapers/tire patching kit/compressor/garbage bags...don't litter..!.......etc/etc...

You get the idea..?... I would not take that bag you show, as it will take up too much room....you will have the back of the truck totally full by the time you get this stuff ready...

Good luck on your adventures...!!

EDIT... for got... remove the rear seats...= more room for stuff..!!

Dalandser, thanks for linking that thread. OP, if you read that it should provide plenty of ideas for things to carry.

If you're going out of cell service areas, a DeLorme InReach would be #1 recommendation. It is your fail safe for when all else fails.
