Yeah Toyota is weird about trim models as well as what is standard and what isn't. Like I am an 01 V6 Manual TRD SR5 4x4 while you are an 01 2.7 Manual SR5 4x4 so not sure if I have it because it was an option, or the TRD trim, or engine size.

I run his relocate kit and love it. My wheels were 4" backspace so I jave to run a spacer to keep from hitting the shock at full bump.

Might be too late if you don't have another car, but I don't fuck around with ball joints or tie rods without a pitman arm puller anymore. They sell at Vatozone or advance in two sizes, I believe I use the bigger one. Can get both for $30 total.

What shocks are you running? And with what lift in the rear if you don't mind me asking.

So looking at the brochures online, ABS was apparently made standard in 2003 and was an available option before that (so for your 2001s), but was not part of any package. It was simply an available add-on feature.

Before I replaced my front brakes, it would engage if I were braking over a rough spot in the road. I guess it was due to me needing to press the brakes at least halfway down to really do anything and that got the ABS system all panicky, so it engaged over nothing. IDK, it was stupid. Since I replaced my pads, rotors, calipers, and fluid, it hasn't engaged once. And since swapping the CVs, it can't engage :p

Pitman or ball joint tool under modest compression, torch until grease tries to flash ignite, whack the side of the housing repeatedly until it pops.
Also, make sure to drive out the retaining ring before you start.

If you're not entirely against ABS, try fully servicing the front if you haven't done so in recent times. It effectively disabled mine. But if you'd rather just not have it all, then go ahead and disable it. I'm not a huge fan of ABS anyway. I see its purpose, but it doesn't always help and on some vehicles it's much worse than others.

Fuckin' a. What I would give to be able to say the same. Mine isn't super high (178K) but it's still significantly higher than that. That's brand new.

@stairgod @Arcticelf I'm actually beginning to think the flip does change the spring rate based on the geometry of the shackle and the way it gets loaded. In stock shackles, the leaf has to fight the weight of the vehicle to expand and rotate the shackle past a certain point (roughly 45°). In a flipped shackle, there are much larger stresses in the shackle itself, but the leaves don't fight the weight of the truck to expand and rotate the shackle. This leads me to believe the stock hangar provides a stiffer spring rate and the shackle flip will allow for a softer spring rate based on the ease of expansion and rotation of the shackle....opinions?

I got it with a ball joint fork from auto zone, took a lot of decent whacks, thing was really on there.
New problem: torque specs? Im seeing 37 ft/lb in this video for the 4 connecting the joint to the knuckle but not seeing it elsewhere, can anyone confirm?
