Yeah, mine even has a similar system with a drain spout and catch tray on the rear. I use the foil pans to help keep crud off the element, out of the water tray (which I don't use, it's wrapped in foil) but mainly so the fat doesn't drip onto my AMAZN dust maze and put it out.

IMG_6016.jpg All bagged up and headed to the freezer. I sliced up the nice big pieces for breakfast, and there were lots of edge pieces that will be diced up into bits and used in soup.

Turned out to be perfect timing - had a GFI trip in the garage this week and had to empty out the freezer.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I've had two sous vide devices. One is a simple turn on and start, and the other had wifi. I'm a big fan of wifi. I can leave the sous vide cooker in the water when I leave the house, and start heating it up whenever. This is a nice feature.

You are correct it is not. Last 2 nights been researching and reading the reviews for them. To me it boils down to the Anova wifi and the newer ChefSteps. On Amazon the Anova has ~17% negative reviews percentage wise. The ChefSteps is ~.6% negative but with a smaller sampling size. Was set to go with the ChefSteps at $200 same price as the Anova wifi. But I work from home and really don't need wifi on either one. Besides my ip forwarding is already setup to the Automatic Temperature Controller for the WSM LOL.

For $100 it is very tempting and I will be going right by BB on the way home from picking the dog up from doggie day care. Damn it is tempting I look at them more as a manual device anyhow for the way I would use it. Just ordered the Weston pro 1100 vacuum sealer yesterday, have gone almost 60 years without a vacuum sealer but too much freezer burnt meat in that time is enough. What the hell did I get into, I need to stay the hell off TW. But hey I am saving money. That I didn't plan to spend to begin with. Oh what the hell can't take it with you, Anova is mine in a few hours, thanks!

Whats odd is that link is no longer valid on BB and I can't find the product any longer. Let me know if it's in store at the price.

For several years now I have been told by numerous people that I cook the best steak they have ever had in their life. Because of that I usually end up being the chief cook and bottle washer at any gathering I go to. So now what the hell is going to happen? Whats next? Bastage... just saying.

I owe you one if I ever get to your neck of the woods. Maybe even 2, 3 or 6 pack LOL. :thumbsup:Thank you good sir!

    cooker.jpg

It was, and listed as $99.99. Wasn't even listed as a sale price on the shelf. However on the receipt it said you saved $50. It was the last one. The Wifi one was sitting next to it for $199.99 and they only had one of those too.

Pretty decent price at $100 plus tax IMO if you don't need the Wifi.

At the end of the day, it's just a tool. It's the person managing it. There is more then one way to skin a cat. Revers sear? Sous vide? Low and slow? Just have fun and make your friends and family smile with good eats.

I have one of those sitting in my kitchen ready to be put to use! My parents gave the gal and I a nice gift card so we did what foodies do and bought that and a instapot . Sushi tomorrow, salmon cooked with the sous vide and perfect sticky rice in the instapot. Steaks on sunday!

I am most excited about finally perfecting my burger with the sous vide.

Totally! I remember years ago hitting the last Shoney's in the North off from I-81 IIRC it was somewhere around Gettysburg Pa. I asked for sweet tea and the waitress said if you want your tea sweet you can put your own sugar in it. I wanted to say Damn honey you don't have a clue do you????

There's a place here in Murfreesboro that only has unsweet tea, but they understand how it works. They bring out bottles of simple syrup if you want sweet tea. It works perfectly because the sugar is already melted.
