I built a hoist in my garage that I also store the tent on when not in use. It's a one man job lifting it on and off my truck.

Here's a picture of the hoist I built. Idea stolen from MIA @DoorDing. Just an FYI the tent is an extended Shasta summit series and is not balanced, its heavier on one side.

It's a Racor hoist I beefed up a bit. I'll post other pics once my rack comes and I get it all set up.

I'm a little on edge ever since my 03 Tacoma got stolen, so mine will only be on when in use.

Billie 5100's all around, 885's, Dakars, Wet Okole front seat covers, Weather Tech mats front and rear, NFab nerf bars, front mud flaps removed, hoseclamp tailgate mod, front badge color match, cb antennae mount in a bed cleat, 4' Wilson antennae, salex console organizer, led's in map and dome lights, plasti dip all badges black, bedside stickers removed, OEM exhaust tip, plastidip hood scoop black, bed rail mounted military can, maglite seat mount mod, TRD shift knob, OEM bed mat, bottle opener bed mod, window tint on fronts, uniden 520xl cb, Redline hood struts, OEM front skid plate(silver),RuggedT bedside decals, Yakima cross bars and Yakima Load Warrior basket, cali raised amber pod, cali raised 31" light bar in lower valence, painted engine cover, 7 pin relocate. Blue sea fuse box, Softopper black. Shmelfab sliders

I would get really wide bars, my yakima bars are 66" long. Then put the RTT up there and 1 canoe next to it. Isn't the point of having a canoe so you both can paddle together?! I have a 16 foot kayak and want a canoe so i can take my dog with me.

Never mind just read that they are solo canoes, in which case i think the t-post coming out the hitch is a good idea.Put your tailgate down and prob could fit both in the bed, hanging out the back resting on the t-post. I actually have one for sale, but you can get them from homedeopt

My setup with bed bars and smittybilt rtt. Have had it on for over a month but haven't had a chance to go use it. Seemed solid when I had it opened up though

I used the blue insulation board from lowes. I used the .75" thick because, I had it on hand. It hides the center siem where the two halves meet. Also, seems the helps with the condensation and adds R-value.

So my RTT is a fussy thing. Anytime anyone else tries to help me get her packed up, she decides to act up. The past couple times prior to yesterday, fabric gets caught in the zipper and it turns into a fifteen minute issue. Yesterday, the zipper tab broke where the pull tab was. The slider is still there but I have to move it by only the slider. I guess I'm researching new sliders/tabs so I can go back to having something to grip and pull.

Here was our set up yesterday at the 4WP opening down on the coast.

    Nice set up!

The only person that helps me is my son. He is super diligent about tucking in the tent fabric in before zpping.

Mine always gets caught against the cab. There's no space to really get at it. I always have to sit in the backseat and work at it from the slider window area.
