Hahaha, When I saw it I couldn't get over how big of a clusterf* the entire thing is. The devil is in the details. License plate? GETLYD. The image on the back? A mosquito with the text "Confederate National Bird, Still out for Yankee blood", the flag said "The South Will Rise Again", back window says "Country Swagger". Of course the "Fuck It" image on the left of tail gait. The sticker to the far left of the bumper was one stick figure going down on another with "I love sushi" underneath it. Shaking my head... This guy needs help.

It was obvious, as in pay no attention to the man behind the curtain obvious. I would have to think that the big three, as well as Yota and BMW, all took a look at those engine designs and said no way. I would bet the other manufacturers tipped off the EPA. If you could build an emissions(US) friendly diesel that had passenger car performance every other manufacturer of US cars would have that reverse engineered in a week.

Where did you see orange skies in the 70's? I was in Pittsburgh and the skies were blue and the Ohio lived up to its name. As for rivers catching on fire, I heard that they did set a river on fire in Ohio but that was back in the 60s. You lost me on this one.

Another post lamenting the good 'ol days . . . when you couldn't fish most major rivers for fear of getting cancer if you eat the fish, the air was full of lead, heavy metals, and particulates, acid rain fell from the sky, groundwater was contaminated with MTBE, etc. Yep . . .them good 'ol days.

Healthy environment means healthy people. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

    A. Fish and game departments still advise eating small portions of resident fish due to Mercury in many rivers. Mercury is a natural element. I have seen it oozing from Cinnabar cake like honey. Again 100% natural.

    B. Acid rain is good for plants, and all rain is acidic. Ice core samples confirm it has always been this way.

C.Oil naturally bubbles out of the earth. Millions of gallons a day. Look up the Santa Barbara oil seeps or visit the Le Brea tar pits.

    D. CO2 levels are higher than ever in your lifetime. If any of the models were right, the polar ice caps should have been melted by now. Turns out they are all wrong. Forecast models can't accurately predict the weather tomorrow but we are supposed to believe they can predict decades in advance?

    A. What about kepones, PCB's, heavy metals, bacteria (shellfish), and all of the other industrial leftovers from the good ol days?

    B. Acid rain is natural due to carbonic acid (weak acid and natural), not sulfuric acid released from sulfides, which was a problem through the mid to late 20 the century

    C. Oil is released naturally. MTBE is not.

    D. Not going to get drawn into that "political" conversation.
