Good on you for getting those dogs into good homes.

I hate kennel crates. My wife rescued a Pomeranian that had been crated for 4 years. He was permanently crippled, but eventually got stronger. Didn't even know how to be a dog, but my Akita was more than happy to teach him.

My female bulldog was similar to that. Her first 6 months of her life was spent in the kennel because the people didn't realize how much care they take. It amazes me how people don't do their research. She had no muscle built up in her legs or core and couldn't jump or walk for long periods of time. Her wrists were all twisted from standing on the wire and she had no idea what a toy or treat was(she learned fast).

It's amazing what people will do to something that only wants to love and be loved. I don't like people kenneling dogs all the time to where they live in there but i think it's important they understand it's a good safe place so it can be used when traveling or for their safety if need be.

My Nellie loves her crate unless my dick cat
Tries to undermine her happiness. Case in point came home to this one day.IMG_0674.jpg

 for rescuing her.  at the folks who kept her kenneled all the time

My dogs are kennel trained. They sleep in there when I go to work, with the doors open. They didn't stay in them longer than 4 hours without a play time outside. There's no way I could have left these sharks loose when they were pups.

I'm with you - that people should not have dogs and leave them in crates all the time!!!  But they are a good tool when used properly.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I know :deadhorse: But I don't like when people have misconceptions about crates. Both of our dogs love have loved their crates, run in to "go to bed". Used correctly, they are a great tool. BUT both were/are in there the MINIMUM time "required". NEVER for discipline, only for safe keeping/sleeping. Lots of exercise, etc. Don't hate the crate, hate the owner. Kinda like the gun control debate ...:crapstorm:

Both my dogs are rescues, and their experiences with crates...are the bad kind. They do not go in willingly. Lucy bites. Well, except now for some reason at the groomer and that is with a "this isn't my favorite thing in the world but I am getting my hair lowered" resigned to fate attitude about it now.

So, I guess that's some kind of improvement I suppose.

Goose poop is impossible to avoid living on the water. The cat poop he'll sniff it out like his life depends on it.

He eats prescription food, but I'll ask about his vitamins next vet visit.
