I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
^^^ This is why I would never buy a white truck.

That plus it would make me look like an exterminator/contractor

It probably helped that the Hilux is everywhere overseas. In most countries you can't take two steps without seeing one.

Alright, finally got my TRD Shift nob in. Feels nice and heavy. I had my Mopar shift knob that just felt cheap, this feels much better. It is smaller than the stock shift knob, but I am sure I will get used to it. Love the way it makes the interior look IMO.

Changed my bulbs in my headlights from LED back to stock halogens yesterday. Pleased with the difference.

Does anyone know if they make a trd style shift knob for the five speeds that is similar to the style of the 6spd knob? heres a pic of the 6spd one.. im looking for something similar to this but for my 4 banger

Base v6 models have same rear end as the sport. I don't know about the 4 bangers.
The third member is that whole pumpkin part with the gears in it. You need to tap it for the air line, but ECGS can do that for you too!

Do any 2nd gem Tacos come with a completely open diff? My 2012 prerunner Sr5 even has a auto LSD. I tried to get stuck in the deep snow the other day, just to find its limits. I was unsuccessful.

I think you have this backwards. The newer years are an open diff and electronically controlled (brakes) limited slip and the earlier years are mechanical. Maybe it's a year range... can't quite remember

So can a mechanical limited slip 3rd member from an "older" 2nd gen TRD off-road with an e-locker be installed in a later open "auto LSD" rear end in a newer 2nd gen TRD off-road with an e-locker, giving the new truck real mechanical limited slip? If it fits, would it cause problems with any of the brake controlled traction and stability aids? Are the e-lockers the same?

Using both a mechanical lsd probably isn't bad but maybe counter productive, when the mechanical kicks in the brakes might kick in at the same time causing the mechanical to disengage. Air locker and be done is my only advice

What if the brake controlled auto-LSD was never activated? Easy enough to disconnect the switch. An air locker would be little change from the current e-locker setup unless the ARB carrier is a limited slip unit - acknowledging that the air locker is by definition an anytime system while the e-locker is factory limited to 4-lo. If the ARB 3rd member specified for later 2nd gens IS limited slip, wouldn't that prove that brake controlled traction and stability system interference is not an issue? I'm interested in real limited slip performance before I have to lock up. The brake controlled auto LSD has not impressed me in snow and ice conditions. It would probably be fine in low speed off road applications, but sometimes you need to spin both rear tires when you're not in 4-lo.

anytime locker mod, or air locker. If you have a locker then why want an LSD?

So after 2 years and roughly six trips to glamis sand dunes my stock shocks were pretty much done haha installed my 5100's yesterday set at .85 stock spring and got me some wheelers super bump stops, can't wait to try them out at glamis. Might do the gm bumpstops for the rear IMG_0367.jpgIMG_0362.jpg IMG_0336.jpgIMG_0331.jpgIMG_0366.jpg IMG_0361.jpg
