IDK this manual here is saying 59ft/lb.



EDIT: I know it's a FSM for a 2003, but I can't imagine it's any different. The only reason I have a 2003 is because it's the newest/closest to my 2004 I could find.

 

I have the 2001 manual i can check when I get home...I also may be inclined to give up the two manuals I have since they're for 01s not 06s

ok thanks, Ill put them to 59 instead then, cuz 37 didnt feel tight at all. Sub-zero Ill gladly take a manual off your hands .
And loosnut normally Id agree, but I didnt wanna take the chance with lower ball joints, these things are notorious for failing, better off safe than sorry.

I think 2001s are very similar to the 2004 aside from the throttle body I believe

 

Ok....the carpenter in me wants to know what you ised to model this as far as input forces, vehicle weight, spring rate, shackle length, etc.
Your model definitely shows much mor stress on the shackle in a flip configuration.
With stock length shackles, when inverted and sitting at about a 30* angke from vertical, with approximately a 15oo# load on the shackle, how much force is required to move the spring eye? I.e. is the downward force on the shackle enough to cause the spring to flatten out more than just the vehicle weight(the above mentioned 1500#.)
Lets play with 500#/in spring rate with an increase of 50# per inch of travel. For this instance lets forget aboit the progressive increase in spring rate as more leaves come into play.

And one other model with the flipoed shackle at 99*(vertical)

Dakars have a spring rate of 183/392 lbsft/in. According to ARB
