I have found another Canadian supplier in Alberta. They are just starting but the really cool thing is they are offering sliders and bumpers etc. that are GALVANIZED and POWDER-COATED!!
    So cool
    Element metal Fabrication.
Here is their Instagram account with pics
    http://www.imgrum.net/user/elementmetalfab/4033432123

I have been emailing back and forth and they have decent prices considering the galvanizing and powdercoating.Perfect for canada winters.
    Check them out

This is my invoice had it done last friday and I definitely notice a difference in how it drives, less hunting for gears seems smoother, just hope it doesn't revert back after learning

That's great! The only problem is that my dealer keeps telling me it only applies to the 2016. Since mine is a 2017 they refuse to even take it in.

I'm going to ask another dealer.

What does your vin say? If I read mine correctly my 2017 falls under the tsb. I haven't bothered to go in with it. Just living with it for now, hoping they get a final fix first. A lot of guys that have had it done, have very mixed reviews.

It's a 2017 alright! Toyota Canada just needs to get their act together. The trucks are the same as in the US, yet the updates take forever to cross the border...

Do you need to know, or care?
The only difference I noticed after having the update done was I no longer have the reverse to drive delay when cold. It still shifts the same as it did before. I don't use cruise control, so can't speak to the gear hunting on inclines or holding lower gears after cresting hills, which seems to be the main complaints.

That TSB clearly states it's for the 2016 Tacomas. Maybe that's why the dealer will not apply to a 2017...... Check the serial # in the TSB...I doubt there are any 17's in that list...

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
You could try SC1, I use it on the plastic and trim on my atv to shine it up and renew it.

In your case, I'd be more worried that the tranny is full.... have them check it physically as a condition of sale, if you can... watch them do it also..!!

I work for the auto company and I personally know the service manager and sales manager, so I'm sure they'll take care of it, though I did mention it to him

Mines a 17, and the VIN matches one the applicable listed, even though the tsb clearly says 16's.

Perhaps they use the same series over with a different year code. If that's the case mine obviously wouldn't fall under that bulletin. The thing is my transmission exhibits the problems listed, although I don't notice a r to d delay.

I'd try to get them to do it if the VIN falls within one of those shown....yours might be a late 16/early 17...??
