Called the dealership today about getting the TSB rev One update. Service advisor said he would get a price for me. I lost my temper and threw a few f-bombs out there then talked with the head dude of the dealership. He had a the guy call me back with a completely different tune. Ended up dropping it off there tonight speaking with a different service writer who really liked the truck said he would take care of me and have a master tech check it tomorrow. I guess we'll see what happens. The guy in the first conversation said to me TSB is not a recall. He knew nothing of the TSB Rev 1. I told you owner when I talk to him that he should have asked me if I was having any issues looked into the tsb and check to see if my issues would have pertained, but right away he said he would get a price and I just went off the deep end. When he did call me back I told him I wouldn't take my truck to a tire shop to have a flat tire repaired if I didn't have a flat tire! :annoyed:

I had a similar problem. I was doing everything thru the service manager. When I took it in he was not around so left it with another service writer who looked up what was being done. The service manager agreed to install the ECGS bushing since the second bearing failed. Anyway, left it there for 4 hours. When I got back that service writer said it was the grommets in the lca and didn't do the bushing. I was pissed and so was the manager. Bushing, break in fluid changes and rev1 all done at no charge.

Does the TSB fix the slamming into gear and the 2nd to 1st downshift jolt? I'm having these issues and wondering if I need the TSB or if it something else going on. It's the 4cyl though which I haven't really seen many have issues with.

The service writer tonight actually said he would have them do the E tune update also he just put in his notes that I had some issues with it even though I really haven't had any problems at all. Not sure on the Rev 1. Maybe the tech will drive it and think everything's fine. I told him sometimes it kind of sticks in 5th gear when it definitely should be shifting into 6 but doesn't always do it. So hoping for the best I'll know more tomorrow. I also told him ahead of time the gears had been changed to 4.88 just so the tech knows up front. Told him that had nothing to do with these little shifting issues so didn't want a call telling me they wouldn't do it because of the gears. :fingerscrossed:

One of the problems it's supposed to help with his hard shifting from 1st to 2nd I believe.

Well damn I'll definitely ask when I go in for the first service then. It is shifting haaarrrddd some times and others it is is just kind of hard. It has mostly been when it is cold out and before the engine is warm.

I'd go test drive that same truxk brand new and see if it rides dif. I got the TSB thing and noticed nothing. Others peolle have had better luck..but if u drive a dif truck at the dealership and it's better, demand to swap. It's now looking like not all tacomas have that issue

And I always let it warm up at least 10 min. Even in the summer. Doesn't hurt to have it running a few before driving. Get all the oil flowing

Took It out on the maiden voyage finally. Only took DMV a month to get it registered. Didn't stop for food tonight but it is a fitting backdrop. :)

Well... Not really. You aren't supposed to warm up the engine on modern vehicles.

I'm not sure if the tsb I had done also covers the 4cyl? Mine just shows the 2gr engine. However it does seem to cover those issues.
