    @G.T.
    I took your advice, did some searching and got Trim Lok.
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NL4BG0A

    3/4 wide 9/16 high and a hundred ft will keep me in spares.

    If, not buying McMaster Carr suggestion seemed rude, my apologies. I do appreciate the info on multiple rows.

    Thank you,

    My shell dealer called yesterday and said my 100XQ came in. Hopefully I can make it over there this afternoon or tomorrow to get it. :fingerscrossed:

    I bought (2) 2x8 x 57" and (2) 3/4" plywood 57 1/4" x 67 1/2" for the sleeper. (Cut to length at Lowes, as it saved me time at home.)
    I have to notch the 2x8 to fit in the 7" slots and cut a slight angle on each of the plywood pieces to fit on the tailgate end of the bed.

    One step closer to a sleeper unit in the cap that is still 'on its way' ARE MX Walk-In.

    I have pondered the thought of adding a spacer to raise the 2x8s a bit higher so I can have more storage height. That would require the same spacer on the sides, too.
    May not do it, because that will reduce head room. I will decide when I have the cap.

    Waterproof carpeting, too.

    First:
    When Lowe's cuts the wood, bring a tape measure and check before you leave.

    I added the spacer below the cross members and got a bit more than 9 5/8" for storage. The plywood is 3/4".

    I plan to shape the sides better and cut the sides to place a full 48" wide piece instead of the split in the middle. LATER, not yet.

    Considering you're going with the taller shell, I like how you spaced it up for more storage. :thumbsup:

    Doing a one-piece platform can make it difficult to remove, if you plan to.

    It's not a one piece. In the one shown I have 2 halves of plywood. 4 ft wide plywood won't cover the whole bed.
    The cross members pull out easily.

    My improvement will be one 4 ft wide sheet with the side pieces (left and right) to fill. Should be easy to pull the 4 ft piece less the 'lids' for storage access.

    Update, the middle piece will be about 40" wide to allow (edit to 1 x 12) 2 x 12 supports fore/aft and a 40" wide, hinged lid, box at the forward end.

    It will be 3 weeks friday since I ordered the A.R.E. cap. I haven't heard yet. Getting excited though.
    @areaccessories

    I am poised to buy the Total Chaos bed stiffeners, too. But, TC is not sure they will fit with this cap/door, so I will get the cap first, then see.
