Has anyone had a vibration after installing a lift or even without a lift? i am thinking its the needle bearing it did not start right after my lift was installed but about 2000 miles after. Only makes this noise when it is cold out like below 45 degrees and seems to happen between 30 and 45 mph. When i put into 4HI the noise goes away then when back into 2WD comes back. So my thought is needle bearing any other suggestions?

Nope, you're dead on. My 2G did it in all temperatures but otherwise match exactly.

Get the ECGS bushing and be done with it.

Already have the drop kit installed and if the temp is warmer like yesterday was 60 out and had no noise.

The is a TSB for the faulty needle bearing for the 2nd Gen Tacomas. I've heard of some 3rd gen guys getting lucky and getting it done to theirs. There is a "revised" needle bearing that will fix the issue. But the "revised" needle bearing is no better than the other, from what I hear vibrations always come back a few thousand miles later. I also don't see Toyota doing it under warranty since the truck is lifted.

I recently had the same issues, and did the ECGS bushing. Night and day difference. Id suggest doing it and just be done with it for good.

    ECGS directly.

You need the bushing and puller, unless someone local has the puller. Some people replace the CV seal as well, while others let it be. I replaced mine and ended up getting unlucky and having a leak. I ended up having the dealer fix it since I didn't want to rip it apart again only to have it leak again, which unfortunately lightened my wallet by $400 (oof).

That's a tough one. It's one of those things that you probably should do, but when I did it I was burned. I'll let other more experienced members chime in on this one.

Any seal like this can be tricky when replacing. Usually, what happens the seal gets damaged when reinstalling the axle. So need to be extra careful putting it back together.

Since the truck is new I'm sure the seal is just fine. Just be careful when taking it apart and RnR the bearing/bushing/axle. But as cheap as seals are I prefer to replace them anytime you need to remove an axle. Very cheap and simple thing to do. Plus if you think it might have gotten damaged on reinstall it's better to have a new one on hand.

I hav notice the colder it is, the worse the vibration is. I also noticed with the alignment it has some to do with it.

I have been seeing this, but it looks like the old bearing has teeth on it and the new one doesnt? Would that affect the 4x4 because the cv shaft has to have something to grab on to to work doesnt it? I mean im not a mechanic but something is just kid of weird about it. I would hat to lose the working part of that wheel just to get rid of a vibration?
