The connectors are only needed when doing the foglight upgrade. The headlight harness comes complete.

Installed the harness from Rallylights with the 85/80 osram hypers about a week ago. Definitely a noticeable difference. Thank you @crashnburn80 for the time and information you have put into this thread.

I think there is a spare on the way there from another TW member. PM me if you'd like help locating a connector to drop ship directly to Rallylights so you receive a complete plug and play harness from them.

Conventionally switched, the op explains how to check on the first page of the thread, very straightforward. From my understanding you're most likely conventionally switched as well but probably a good idea to check to be certain.

@crashnburn80 does rally lights have the new 100/90 osram bulbs or did you get them somewhere else?

I just thought I would post a long-time follow-up on my installation of this headlamp and fog light mod.
    I used the VOSLA H4 +100 from Candlepower - http://store.candlepower.com/64205.html
Just a couple of days ago, the left headlight went out.
That was after 15,000 miles, and approx. 4.5 months in use.
It would be impossible to figure out how much of that time was at night, or in the rain during the day, with my lights on.
After an email to Kenny at Candlepower, he responded with a remarkably in depth email on what determines the length of life for bulbs, and what are reasonable expectations for them under certain circumstances.
Interestingly, according to him, one of the prime causes of premature bulb failure is how often they are turned on. As in my case, where I am an on the road salesman, and am stopping and starting my truck over an over all day (& sometimes night) long. Something that I never knew.
Anyway, I've ordered a second set, in the hopes that I get longer life out of them than the first, because they are so superior in performance to the OEM bulbs that were in there, and I've become addicted to how well they light the road. (And when paired with the Fog Light upgrade which I did as well, it is an amazing amount of light on the dark backroads in Virginia, without unduly blinding oncoming drivers.) I can honestly say that this upgrade combo has resulted in avoiding at least 3 Deer Strikes this Fall alone. No question I would have hit them had I not been running this mod.
If the second set does not turn out to be longer lived, Kenny Recommended switching over to the Philips 9003 Xtreme Vision, which he felt was not as bright, but still better than OEM, and would provide longer life than the Vosla H4 +100.
I will dutifully report back on the next set of lamps, but I am still in the corner for this mod, based on how much time I spend behind the wheel, in the dark, where I live.
Even if I spend a little more over the course of the year on bulbs and skinned knuckles replacing them every 4-6 months.

thanks for the report, so you upgraded the harness and used the Vosla h4(sounds like it) or your running the stock wiring harness. again thanx for your findings. I was thinking about running the vosla h4 with my stock harness but no way 5 months is going to hack it for me.

I did the whole thing, with the combo harness and the Vosla bulbs up top and whatever the OP recommended bulbs were down below.
    Stunning improvement over OEM.

Rallylights does not carry the 100/90s. I purchased off of ebay. However, after my latest swap I recently suspect these may be for right hand drive vehicles, vs the 85/80w being for the correct left hand drive. I'm planning on doing a comparison this weekend and will report back.

Thanks for the update with first hand experience on the Volsas!

Glad this upgrade has made your night driving safer. :) 15k miles is about a years worth of driving to the average motorist, and being winter there is a greater percentage of the day that is dark.

Unfortunately performance comes at the cost of bulb life even without going high wattage, there is no real way around that for halogens. You are not going to find any true long life high-output bulbs, it just comes down to a balance of what is more important to you. It is true the number of times a bulb is turned on does effect the life span. The Xtreme Vision is an excellent stock wattage high output bulb, comparable to the Osrama Nightbreaker but the Philips have a slightly higher output in the latest version at a slightly lower K temp. I bought the Philips H13 Xtreme Vision for my GFs Mariner and she reports a noticeable improvement, however bulb life is still low, rated at 300 hours for stock wattage.

Keep in mind it was 15k miles in the winter time. But for a real long lasting solution, HIDs with a projector retrofit may better suit your needs.

Wattage has nothing to do with it. A bulb is a bulb, a filament is a filament. Left/right is all lens design.

I installed the wiring harness with the 85 watt bulbs and the difference puts a smile on my face! Thanks again for sharing such a great mod using old technology with boosted power. It surely saved me money because there was no way I was going to be "that guy" who does it wrong and glares everyone on the road.

    I love this mod!!!!!
