Tried to get mine into the Trail Premium but she felt it was too masculine with the red stitching in the seats and some of the other interior design features. We ended up with the SR5 Premium but now she wishes we got the limited because she likes all of the gadgets and tech (but hates the blingy wheels and wood trim)....can't win with these women man. I tell ya

EDIT: Thinks she wants the Lexus GX now. So thats likely next

If you want to spend an extra $10k+ for looks do it. Otherwise save your money. The OR can do everything a PRO can. PROs are for people who have money or are stupid with how they spend it.

Don't listen to the guys on here bashing the pro, this suspension is amazing regardless of what some have said on this thread, I test drove the off-road, sport, and a limited. Let me tell you they all drove like bricks compared to the pro.

so what's it cost to get a good suspension on a OR or 4x4 Sport? How long does the vehicle need to be in the shop for it? Will a after market auto parts and custom shop that would do this finance it? or is it all cash at most places?

$1500 (Bilstein 6112s up front and Bilstein 5160s in the rear with an AAL pack from Wheelers offroad) feedback is that this actually improves the ride over the stock Offroad suspension and will also give you a mild 1" to 2" lift. Search for posts, photos and feedback on the install and experience from @Threerun if curious for more.

The main "PRO" of the PRO is that the suspension and things come warrantied. If you go adding aftermarket stuff, you can run into some warranty issues down the road if you have problems with any related components on the truck.

I agree, the Pro is a great choice.

I also agree that it's for people who have money and can afford it.

I disagree that that it's for people who "are stupid with how they spend it". In fact, I think if you have the money and not time to build its a great choice. My time is money, and I have no time or interest in building suspensions, lifts or other things. Just not my thing. So, that makes my PRO purchase a smart buy for me.

I needed a cool, reliable daily driver truck with enough clearance for the sand dunes on the Cape Cod national seashore. That's it. My truck will never climb a rock.

Get the PRO if you like it.

Like I said before - It's a fine choice if you have money. If you don't have a lot of money, it's a stupid choice.

Get the PRO if you like it and won't notice missing the extra $10k you spent to buy it.

OP, not sure how long you have been researching tacomas, but thanks to folks like @smitty99, you may want to test drive the second and third gens before getting anything. I only have the second gen and I love mine, but I have heard some don't like the transmission in the new ones. No hate intended for them by any means, but it might drive different than what you might expect.

Assuming you like the drive, I do agree the PRO seems to fit what you are looking for.

I think they generally do a poor job (they look ugly) and you will be overpaying for what you get.

Do you by chance know the companies who make the added components and the price differences from a stock version to their "custom" ones? I would think you might end up paying more for their mods then doing them yourself, but who knows.
