Lower RPMs have a higher friction coefficient. This is why I recommend that on cold days the very second you start your engine you mash the throttle for several minutes to prevent damage.

10k miles, really? That seems like a lot (not questioning you're knowledge, just surprised!) - in all my previous vehicles I usually change around 3-5k miles. I've never owned a Toyota though.

 

10K or 5K if you fall under savere duty.
