    Good luck man.

I have never had a surgery (other than wisdom teeth, if that counts).

A guy at work had what sounds like a very similar surgery a few months ago. He was also having lots of pain. I think they actually screwed together a couple of his vertabra in the neck. And you are correct, they did it through the throat from the front. that just seems so weird. Anyway he was back at work in no time and the pain is gone. He is glad he did it. Hopefully you have the same great outcome. You have lots of people pulling for you....

Good luck Will! Healing energy your way! Going in through the throat sounds....interesting in an odd sort of way. Could be a hell of a sore throat! Hopefully pretty soon means pretty soon in reality not in "doctor time"

Find out more about what they are doing as far as repairing or replacing the disc. I know they have newer metal replacement discs. If they fuse disc you can lose mobility. A buddy of mine's dad had a disc from a cadaver used to replace one of his. It became infected and messed him up pretty bad for the rest of his life. So I'd make sure you KNOW what they are doing before hand!

Other that that, good luck and hopefully a speedy recovery!
