Try Painting or Derping it first. Great mod for a few bucks and compliments that beautifully stock Taco!

Serious question.....Who likes the TRD Sport/Offroad grill? Anyone? Haven't seen anyone come to its defense yet.

Personally, I despise large areas of fake chrome. The stock grill on these trucks makes the front end seem overly large and obnoxious. I ended up with a used SR grill for $100 and am very happy.

Maybe Toyota should take note and do a mid-model appearance update to address the common complaint.

What, and undermine sales of the TRD PRO grills? :D

I'd have to say I don't dislike mine. I don't really think about it. Can't see it while driving. Typically don't see or notice it when walking to the truck.

The dealership did the Rev1 update for me today while it was there I had them install all new LED's seeing I don't have a heated garage and didn't want to deal with it. They could not get the license plate bulbs to stop blowing the seven and a half amp fuse so they just put the factory ones back in. Anybody else have this issue?

I like it on my truck, but I do want to change it out to the Pro grill or something else because I want it to say "Toyota" across the front. My wife likes the stock grill too and doesn't want me to change it. This is on the blazing blue pearl truck. I think chrome looks good on the blue. I do not like it at all on any of the other colors. Black is much better for those, but the chrome is nice on the blue.

It came on my truck, and looks good. Spending money to change it, IMO is wasting money that could
be spent on a functional improvement.

    Retired/Hobbyist old as f***
Forgive me. I like my sport grille. That is one reason I bought a sport. Hate the cheap looking black plastic on a $30k plus truck. I think it cheapens the look. But then again I am over 25 years old. Hell I am over 55 years old. I will say that I like the modded sport grilles that are black/painted and chrome and some of the aftermarket grilles. Personally would not want a free Pro grille. Maybe for target practice. Feel the same about black wheels.
Regarding oil change intervals I am following the 10k mile plan per the Toyota recommendation. When the free oil changes stop I will go to 7500 mile intervals. My last new Ford was 7500 miles. That oil was super clean when changed. That was synthetic blend that I use in all my other vehicles. My use is light duty. As far as warming up the engine you will not hurt it. Same as sitting in a drive thru for 10 minutes which is routine at fast food places. I do believe the water thin viscosity allows you to start and go. Does not REQUIRE a warm up to drive it. It is not like the old straight 30w that took a few minutes to circulate.
    Now let the arguments begin.

So far the TRD pro grill is my favorite. Looks like a classic Toyota truck with it on. It is pricey, but so is a sport/OR grill if you buy it separately.

Haha, to each his own I guess! I'm of the point of view that I don't like faux (nice way to say fake ;)) anything. If its plastic covered in fake chrome, I'd rather see plastic. Of course....and I may be chastised for this...I actually traded away the faux hood scoop. :crapstorm: Then again, I don't mind the chrome toyota emblem, so its probably a me thing...

I do agree though, that for whatever reason, it works better with the blue paint!

Welcome to the over 55 club! In 17 days I will be 71 but to look at my mods you wouldn't believe it.
This will probably be the last truck I buy and have outfitted it the way I want it, not to impress others.
I can't see the need to raise or lower the truck or to replace perfectly good tires. When these tires
wear out, I will replace them with the most reliable tire available at that time.

Full coverage or slim? I'm getting the full size C4Fab -- good coverage, and loses the Leno chin that these trucks have. I want clearance, not cattle pushers!
