Supposedly the light bar got delivered to my house today. Now I want to GTFO of work so I can go open up the box.

Got the light bar today, all in one pc! Fucking psyched! Thing is heavy too. Shiet! @jc11taco89 and @dcorbalis, did you guys have to drill holes on your bull bars to get yours mounted? Put it up to it real quick, and it won't lines up with the pre existing holes already on there...

 

Ya I had to make new holes for mine to. It actually worked out nice I ran all the wires through it as well

 

Gotcha. That's what I'll have to do for mine as well. Gotta make time to do it one weekend I guess. Bit scared of the wiring and running wires part. Ideally I'd like to get it mounted and working even without my switch coming in. And then install the switch once it comes in.

 

Ya that's exactly what I did. Don't be nervous about the wiring part it really is wicked easy. Did yours come with the wire harness or is it just thee bar and switch

 

You're gonna think I'm a complete idiot... but WTF is a wire harness??!!

I think I got everything. Here's some pics:

Everything I received is in this pic. The plastic bag has the mounting brackets and bolts.


This is a wire loom that's just the black and red wires.


And this is the wiring stuff that has the switch, a wire connected to a fuse, and the two wires that go to the battery all connected to each other.

 

Looks like you got a wire harness, its the black and red wire loop in your second pic

 

Cool! My guess is that I have to connect those to the wires coming out of the light bar, and then to the "box" that's in the middle of the last pic, right?

 

I'm not really sure, looks like you got an awful lot of parts there lol, when I got mine the harness was completly assembled and ready to go. The fuse will be between the battery and the switch I would think and then there's gotta be some way to run power the the light, is there any plugs on the light or does it look like you gotta splice wires?

 

There's a wire coming out of the light bar already, that's cut, so I'd have to connect wires to it. Guessing it's cut since he was using the bar with a different harness because of the set up he had, since he had it mounted behind the grill.

 

Ya you have the harness with it. The wireharness is the wires that connect to the switch it has the fuse on it, basically your all set to plug and play

 

Cool. Guess now I just have to set it up and connect it all, a.k.a. the scary part.

 

Happy late Saturday peeps! Got a bit of snow... Not much. Talked pops into helping me tomorrow afternoon (if all goes well) with mounting the light bar. He's an electrician so he has all the good stuff I'll need to get it done, and right. Not to mention he's super duper handy!

 

^^^ Let me fill in what goes on at a typical Portuguese house on Sunday: BIG meal for lunch with a few bottles of red, except in the summer when it's cold vinho verde (not aged white). Dessert with espresso and a shot.

Once that's done, then comes wiring the lights...

Hell no! Not to mention he loves helping me out with stuff. Always asking me if I need anything, so more than glad to take him up on the "offer".

 

Got the light bar installed this afternoon with the help of my dad and father in law. Cause you know, Portuguese people do everything in groups because of the bs talking.

Will take better pics tomorrow, along with my temporary switch solution. Had to solder some wires because of the way the wires were cut on the relay. But my dad is an electrician so he did a kick ass job.

Already popped out my blank switch so I can put in the new one once I get it, and ran the switch it comes with to there.
