What's the point of the bed outlet

I bought my first vehicle ever a year ago which was a 06 TRD Sport and i didn't even know it had an outlet in the bed until a couple of days after I had bought it and after a year of owning the truck I've never used it. But anyway what's the point of it. What can it handle and what can it run if it's max is 400 W. the only thing I can think of is an air mattress pump. And is there like an aftermarket inverter you can buy that will handle a higher wattage?

The same shit everyone else has.
Mine runs a coffee maker with no issue. Same goes for a soldering iron. Itll also charge battery packs for tools. Tons of uses.

I'm sorry... but I thought the point of an outlet was self explanatory. It's an outlet... you plug shit into it.

It'll push about 3.3amps so anything under that will run without causing issues. Quick formula to remember, P=IE. power = current x voltage. Considering everything comes with a label telling you what the voltage and max current an electrical device will use you can just multiply the two to determine the power rating.

Also Power/Voltage will give you the amperage and Power/Amperage will give you voltage.

It's not designed to run a job site but will run a fair number of things

400W doesn't really justify idling or running your truck for a lot of situations. I can understand if your out camping you gotta do what you gotta do.

I actually would love to have qn outlet in my bed. If your out cutting wood or something and it gets dusk/dark you can hook up a trouble light. If you get a flat at night, or hit something, you can plug a trouble light up to see the damage. Need to charge a power tool, or have a small appliance of some sort, coffee maker or something for camping use. Seems it would def come in handy.

Block heater. I've never been somewhere I can't plug in because I always have an outlet in the bed.

Comes in right handy when yous can't find one of them thar receptacle thingies on a tree to plug into.

Especially for charging the dogs e-collar, Garmin Alpha GPS, phone, flashlight, camera battery, or laptop. Just plug in when jumping from one cover to another when hunting and a device is getting low.

Think she might bog down with one of them there fancy chain saws that has a male plug on it however, wear her little receptacle ass out it will. Just saying...
