ok, second run done... I encourage all to learn from my mistakes

originally I bead blasted emblem, which prepared it perfectly, then painted with krylon for plastic, which worked great, then clear coated with krylon "crystal clear acrylic gloss", which reacted badly, yellowed the white paint, and was nothing like gloss, it actually looked like a matte finish

I tried to re- bead blast the emblem, but because I used the paint that bonds to plastic, it damaged the underlying finish, and left splotchy areas

had to do a lot of sanding, then re painted with duplicolor super white II, and clear coat

    fin....

Duplicolor is laquer, right? Should last for quite awhile before cracking but an enamel might be more durable in the long run.

Not a stock emblem, but I used duplicolor to color match my grill lettering.

I derped my stock grill emblem previously. It has held up very well. I swap them out every so often.

How did you get the chrome color matched?

It's been a few years so I don't remember, but probably 2 cans should be plenty. I also used their adhesion promoter and a can of clear coat. They have step by step instructions on the website.
